Paris Saint-Germain will end their year with six trophies won in 2025 alone, which is a phenomenal milestone in itself for the Parisians as they won an international trophy for the first time in their history on Wednesday, beating Flamengo on penalties in the Intercontinental Cup.
Enrique's side has achieved all these big milestones while battling with injuries throughout the year, as their star players Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue, and Achraf Hakimi have been injured more than once this season and were sidelined for some of their most important fixtures.
Dembele and Bradley Barcola had to start from the bench during their clash against Flamengo as they were not fit enough to start the game and came on in the second half, only to miss their penalties in the tie-breaker.
While Dembele seems to be ready to start, Barcola is said to be recovering from muscle fatigue as PSG's hero in the final, Matvey Safonov, has been sidelined from a fracture in his left harm which he seemed to have received while saving Flamengo's third penalty, and is scheduled to be out for some time now.
Amidst all this, PSG has been handed another major blow as their South Korean star Lee Kang-in (h/t Yonhap news) has injured the muscles of his left thigh during the match against Flamengo, as he had to be substituted during the first half, which seemingly has avoided further damage.
The 24-year-old has been an integral part of Enrique's side as he racked up a total of six goals and five assists in Ligue 1 last season and has scored once and provided two assists so far this season.
The club's official statement was on a cautious note. PSG stated, "A left thigh muscle injury makes it unavoidable that he will be out for several weeks." It did not disclose an exact return date, but it appears unlikely he will be available for the year-end schedule.
The South Korean national team is also said to be keeping tabs on the Parisians regarding their players' injuries as they want their top players to be fit for next year's World Cup in North America.
PSG's left full-back Hakimi is also recovering from an ankle injury, which he received during their clash against Bayern Munich in the Champions League this season, as he remains a doubt for Morocco's opening AFCON game against Comoros.
