PSG's Desire Doue Nearing Return, Could Feature in Final Matches of 2025 cover image

Young sensation Desire Doue nears a triumphant return. Get ready for his electrifying comeback in PSG's final matches of the year.

Absent since the end of October, Desire Doue could well make his return before the end of the calendar year, with the possibility of him participating in Paris Saint-Germain's last three matches if all goes well.

Desire Doue was recently in Turin for the Golden Boy awards, but the young talent has been very quiet overall since his grade 3 hamstring injury to his right thigh, sustained on October 29 in Lorient (1-1).

Leaving with a closed-off expression rarely seen, the radiant Doue is in full recovery, and it's an understatement to say he is gradually nearing the end, more than a month after his injury. Because the player is better, much better.

Could Desire Doue Return as Early as December 13?

In recent weeks, reports had filtered through that Desire Doue could well be ready for the final of the Intercontinental Cup in Qatar on Wednesday, December 17.

The prospect of seeing him participate in this match, which Paris Saint-Germain will play for the first time, seems increasingly real, as confirmed by L'Equipe on Tuesday evening.

And even possibly a bit earlier, since, according to the sports newspaper, "the most optimistic even believe his call-up for the match at Metz (on Saturday, December 13) is not a totally far-fetched hypothesis."

Considering the French Cup 32nd-final match against Vendee Fontenay Foot remains a few days after the Intercontinental Cup, Desire Doue could, in the best-case scenario, play Paris Saint-Germain's last three matches of 2025, a way to get back into rhythm a bit before going on vacation.

Obviously, no pressure will be put on him by the club, which is keen to have a player fully recovered before making him play again.

But as the time for his return approaches, Doue is reportedly already able to run at good intensity and is finishing his rehabilitation in Switzerland, with family, rather than in Qatar, as in September after his calf issue, which had already cost him a month and a half of absence.

Paris Saint-Germain is still on track in Ligue 1 and especially in the Champions League, allowing him to take his time. But with him in addition, the team will undoubtedly take on a much greater dimension.

Paris Saint-Germain's December schedule is as follows:

  • PSG vs. Rennes – Saturday, December 6 (Ligue 1).
  • Athletic Club vs. PSG – Wednesday, December 10 (Champions League).
  • Metz vs. PSG – Saturday, December 13 (Ligue 1).
  • PSG vs. (Team to be defined) – Saturday, December 13 (Intercontinental Cup).
  • Vendee Fontenay Foot vs. PSG – Friday, December 20 (French Cup).
