After the victory at Monaco, largely due to the very successful entrance of Desire Doue, Luis Enrique praised his player on Canal+ microphone, as well as the Parisian supporters.
Did you appreciate the result and the performance?
"It was a special match because the first action, it ended in a goal! And I think the second time they overcame our pressing, they scored the second! At that moment, it was very complicated and it's easy to lose confidence individually and collectively because it's incredible. But I think we overcame that moment, we created chances, we missed a penalty too. The team, I think, was sensational. We know it's not just football, it's also mentality. But it was very complicated."
Dembele left injured in this match, another injury. Is it very difficult for you to manage, to know when to play them, when to protect them?
"It's normal. There are pressures on all players. We are a very young team with experience. But at the same time, this year, we have the pressure to win. We love this pressure to win. Everyone knows we can win still. But when there are complicated moments during matches, it's difficult to overcome that. Today, we showed that we can overcome all situations.
But above all, today, I would like to thank our supporters. It's incredible. I have never, ever, neither as a player nor as a coach, had supporters of this level. In the first half, we were losing 2-0 and I only heard ways of supporting the team. It's incredible and this victory is for them. And it's a real pleasure to be here."
Did you like Desire Doue's entrance?
"Desire Doue, everyone criticized him last week. He's an incredible player. He's a different player. We have many players of this level, very young but with a lot of ambition, and I'm very happy for him because he deserves this performance. He was very important."
