Barcola silencing doubters, the €40M signing is proving his mettle with crucial goals and assists, solidifying his vital role in Luis Enrique's winning squad.

If Paris Saint-Germain has finished with extravagance in the transfer window, the capital club continues to spend millions of euros to strengthen Luis Enrique's squad.

At the helm of this recruitment, Luis Campos sees his choices become the subject of criticism at times. Opposition that later was not justified, as had been the case with Christophe Dugarry.

Last season, PSG established itself as the best team in Europe, notably winning the Champions League. Without a true superstar, Luis Enrique relied on a collective strength, and it worked.

It must be said that the PSG coach had excellent material at his disposal, particularly in the attacking sector with Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Goncalo Ramos, and also Bradley Barcola.

Bradley Barcola Has Established Himself at PSG

It was in 2023 that Bradley Barcola settled at PSG, recruited for €40 million from Lyon. The capital club decided to bet on the Frenchman, and this investment has been good so far. Indeed, the Parisian has found a valuable place in Luis Enrique's rotation.

Barcola also knows how to be decisive for PSG, having totaled seven goals and two assists after 17 Ligue 1 matches.

"€40M, It's a Joke!"

So Bradley Barcola has found his place at PSG, where he alternates between good and less good performances. But at the time of his arrival from Lyon, many did not believe in him. This was notably the case with Christophe Dugarry, who stated in 2023 on RMC's airwaves.

"Have they seen Barcola play? With Ekitike, didn't they understand? €40M, it's a joke! A substitute for Ousmane Dembele? But to be nothing at all! It's too early. There are stages in a career. Everything is a question of timing in life. (...) Apart from PSG's directors, who think it's good for Barcola to go to PSG? Where have you heard people say: 'It's great!'?" In the end, it was on the pitch that Barcola proved his detractors wrong through his performances in the PSG jersey.
