While overwhelmingly dominant in play, but terribly clumsy in front of goal, Paris Saint-Germain lost at home to Paris FC (0-1). A look back at the individual performances of the Parisians, case by case.
Chevalier (Fair): This first Coupe de France match of the season will be his only one, though he wasn't necessarily at fault. The Parisian goalkeeper had a simple save to make early on, getting down well, then was beaten by Ikoné's right-footed strike on the opposition's only real chance. Hard to blame him, other than for not producing a wonder save. With his feet, he was solid.
Zaïre-Emery (Fair): Positioned on the right and more as a fullback than a midfielder in this match, the young Parisian gave width to the Parisian play by taking his flank on numerous occasions, with Paris FC forcing him to defend very little. In the attacking department, Zaïre-Emery sometimes lacked a bit of speed and understanding with certain teammates, but he managed to be dangerous with two shots that came close. In his crossing, however, he was a bit less inspired.
Zabarnyi (Poor): Without a direct opponent to speak of, given how little Cafaro truly existed apart from one well-executed control to turn, the Ukrainian had an overall rather quiet evening defensively, without appearing particularly dominant either. It was more in starting the play that he had to work, showing himself to be rather unrefined under pressure. On the conceded goal, he is a fraction too slow to close down the central space in front of Ikoné, and later came close to equalizing with a headed chance that went wide.
Beraldo (Good): Positioned centrally rather than Pacho, he was the most consistent and diligent Parisian on the pitch by a fair margin. He was into the game from the kickoff, delivering an excellent first half-hour with great reading of the game. He continued in this vein for a large part of the match, even though he found himself involved in the goal, having to defend unsuccessfully in a two-on-one situation given Mendes's delay. With the ball, he took quite a few risks; some didn't pay off in his own half, others resulted in several truly interesting and dangerous long passes for the opponent.
Pacho (Fair): Positioned on the left side of the defense, as on a few occasions this season, the Ecuadorian faced Gory and didn't fare much better than Zabarnyi a few days earlier on the opposite flank. The Paris FC winger found himself in good positions several times, getting the better of Pacho with his speed. With the ball, the PSG left-footer didn't particularly shine either.
Nuno Mendes (Poor): Replaced him for the end of the match. He delivered a perfect through ball for Barcola right after coming on, then proceeded to mess up almost everything. Calamitous from start to finish on Paris FC's goal, he also had a major offensive lapse trying to do too much.
Vitinha (Fair): Positioned as a defensive midfielder but wearing a No. 10 jersey that suited him well, the Portuguese delivered one of his characteristic performances of what he offers in domestic competitions. Technical precision and even moments of genius in tight spaces, a few actions of very high quality, notably with his shooting, but also sequences or moments where the Portuguese disappears a bit, as if going on standby. Defensively, he was rarely seen.
Mayulu (Poor): Positioned as a right-sided box-to-box midfielder and often close to Kvara, he started the game interestingly in terms of activity, even winning a few balls, but he gradually began to lose duels and confidence. Mistakes with the ball at his feet, poor choices, and giving the ball away then multiplied, and Mayulu really didn't manage to do much positive during his match. His poor passing is starting to become a pattern.
Doué (Poor): Replaced him and positioned himself in central midfield as well. As in the previous match, he tried to do everything alone, and his wastefulness with the ball was enormous. The icing on the cake: he missed the last chance for an equalizer in the dying seconds with a poorly controlled header.
Fabian Ruiz (Poor): The Spaniard was not reassuring in this match, quite the contrary, and his current technical wastefulness is becoming problematic. Tasked with covering on the left and supporting Barcola ahead of him, the left-sided midfielder had a very wide area to occupy, which he did, but there were several errors in distribution. Between misunderstandings with his teammates and unassured actions, he delivered a technically complicated performance. His relationship with Barcola, often so effective, was also far less productive than usual and sums up the match for both players well.
Kvaratskhelia (Fair): Positioned on the right, but ultimately rather free, the Georgian, for his part, confirmed that he has returned to a much better level in 2026. Often incisive with the ball at his feet, capable of cutting inside or going wide, precise with the ball and playing with his head up, he arguably should have received more of the ball, given what he did with it, although he sometimes found himself a bit blocked on the right side. With a bit more luck, he would have finished the game with several assists. In front of the goal, however, he could have done better than shooting straight at the goalkeeper just before halftime.
Dembélé (Fair): Replaced him on the right and brought penetration and width. He sometimes dribbled a bit too much to make a difference, but he was needed to crack the opposition's block, and he notably missed a big chance shortly before the opening goal.
Barcola (Fair): How difficult the winger's match is to judge. There are certainly some easy parts to assess, notably his difficulties turning under pressure in his own half to play out, but his offensive performance was terribly inconsistent. His speed and runs in behind did a lot of good for this PSG team that was purring a bit too much in possession, and he made a real difference in that way, also pulling off some good crosses. But what wastefulness in front of the goal, once again. The attempts were numerous, some even well-struck, like his two shots in quick succession in the first half, but the winger must be more clinical when finishing.
Ramos (Fair): Luis Enrique had started him this time, and the Portuguese displayed a real desire to shine from the opening seconds. But while he posed a real threat centrally and pinned back the Paris FC defense, the little prince of set-piece situations was very average in front of goal. A lob shot too low, a shot from a very good position too close to the keeper, a headed chance missed by a small margin—it's too much for a striker. In the build-up, Ramos was inconsistent, alternating between completely botched layoffs and some very well-timed passes for Barcola and especially Dembélé. In pressing, he was impeccable.
