Senesi Call Up Earns AFC Bournemouth (Not Spurs) Tournament Appearance Fees

While Marcos Senesi has completed a move away from AFC Bournemouth, the defender remains officially registered with the club until June 30th, meaning the Cherries will still be entitled to any FIFA Club Benefit Programme payments generated by his involvement with Argentina at the 2026 World Cup.

FIFA has increased the overall compensation fund to $355 million (£265m), with clubs paid for both releasing players to the tournament and their participation in World Cup qualifying matches.

For the tournament itself, clubs receive $5,000 (£3,730) per player per day from the date of release until the day after their country's final match. Qualifying appearances were also rewarded at $2,362 (£1,765) per match when a player was included in a matchday squad.

With payments linked to how long nations remain in the competition, Bournemouth stand to benefit financially from Senesi's involvement despite his departure (and already being announced by Spurs), as his registration switches clubs after 30th June.
