Opta suggest AFC Bournemouth are FAVOURITES to win Europa League!

Opta’s supercomputer has Bournemouth as the surprise favourites to win the Europa League, giving the Cherries a 14.3% chance of lifting the trophy based on its simulations. Benfica are close behind on 14.0%, while Bayer Leverkusen sit third at 10.2%. Kelci Bowers Faces Former Bournemouth Teammates in Hashtag Defeat

AFC Bournemouth maintained their perfect start to the FA Women’s National League season with a 4-1 victory over Hashtag United, but the fixture carried extra significance for Kelci Bowers as she came up against her former Bournemouth teammates. Bowers was involved early on when she got her head to Bella Hall’s dangerous cross, but could only clear as far as Issy Bryant, who then set up Jenna Markham for the opening goal. It was a difficult afternoon for Hashtag as Bournemouth dominated much of the contest. Markham doubled Bournemouth’s lead early in the second half before Tamara Wilcock and Charlotte Harris added late goals to seal a convincing win. Bowers and her Hashtag teammates did manage to equalise just before half-time through Ruby Doe, but Bournemouth continued to control proceedings after the break and deservedly pulled clear. So, for Bowers, it was a weekend which saw her own side defeated, but to compound the defeat, Spurs - who acquired the services of her partner and former Cherry Marcos Senesi in the close season, also came up short - in a 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle.Aug 31, 2026

The Bournemouth vs Everton "Guess The Possession" did not have a winner, with no-one predicting the final percentages of 59% to AFCB v the Toffees' 41%. Kudos to Paul Kenward who was the closest guess, however the prize of a Back of the Net mug has been rolled over to Cherries' next match away at Newcastle United on Saturday - along with another unique piece of AFCB merch. Ref Watch: Chris Kavanagh Named Ref for Bournemouth's Home Clash vs Everton

Chris Kavanagh has been named as the referee for Cherries' first game back at Dean Court against Everton on Saturday 29th August. Bournemouth have a record of 6 wins, 4 draws, and 8 losses in the 18 matches refereed by Chris Kavanagh across all competitions. In these games, there have been four penalties given - one for the Cherries (scored by Stanislas), and the other three awarded (and scored) by the opposition. He officiated two games last season for AFCB - the 1-1 home draw with Burnley, and the 3-2 home defeat to Arsenal - where many Cherries fans felt that he blew the final whistle prematurely. With AFC Bournemouth set to discover their Europa League opponents on Friday, one football fan has launched a handy new tool designed to help supporters navigate one of the biggest challenges of European away days: finding affordable flights. The FZZY flight-scanning utility allows supporters to search for flights based on football clubs and destinations, while also giving users the ability to set a radius around both their departure and arrival points. That could prove particularly useful for Bournemouth fans, who may need to look beyond Hurn Airport depending on where the Cherries are sent.
