TRAFFIC UPDATE: A338 Northbound Closure After Milan Clash
AFC Bournemouth supporters attending tonight’s historic Europa League clash against AC Milan should remain aware of potential travel disruption following the match, with overnight road closures scheduled on the A338 Spur Road.
A public notice issued by BCP Council confirms that highway maintenance works will affect sections of the A338 between the Dorset Council boundary and the Cooper Dean flyover.
The works have been rescheduled to run from Monday 19 October until Friday 23 October 2026, with closures taking place overnight between 8pm and 6am.
The northbound carriageway, running from the Cooper Dean flyover towards the Dorset Council boundary, is due to close overnight between 21 and 23 October.
The restrictions mean that supporters travelling to and from the Vitality Stadium should be mindful of possible delays, particularly if their journey involves the A338 after the final whistle.
The council states that emergency service access will be maintained, while access to properties will depend on site safety. Signed diversion routes will be in place for affected traffic.
The latest roadworks information can be checked via BCP Council's roadworks and temporary closures page, while bus passengers can consult morebus service updates.
