Evanilson starred as Bournemouth secured their first Premier League win of the season with a dominant 2-0 victory over Sunderland. Marcus Tavernier opened the scoring before Evanilson doubled the lead, while Kevin Danso’s first-half red card left the visitors with an uphill battle.

An Evanilson masterclass on the South Coast saw Bournemouth pick up their first league win of the season, beating Sunderland 2-0 at the Vitality this afternoon.

The result sees Marco Rose’s side climb out of the relegation zone and up to 15th with six points, while Sunderland drop to 19th, on a losing streak of four.

The match was dominated by Bournemouth, who were ahead in under 10 minutes through Marcus Tavernier, and were given an extra boost as Kevin Danso was sent off for the Black Cats in the 17th minute.

However, Evanilson doubled the scoreline early in the second 45, and the Cherries sat comfortably against the 10 men of Sunderland for the remainder.

Bournemouth took the lead in the sixth minute, as Danso and Omar Alderete failed to deal with a long ball, allowing Evanilson to dance through the pair and square to Tavernier.

The ball was at the perfect height for the midfielder, who headed in freely for his fourth goal of the season.

Adam Smith had a brilliant chance in the 32nd minute, as Rayan’s saved shot rebounded to him six-yards out, but the right-back fired wide.

The Cherries continued to dominate possession for the first half, comfortably playing the ball around but somehow failing to add a second.

Amine Adli recorded his first Premier League minutes this season, having missed the beginning of the campaign through injury.
