There have been a lot of opinions that have been put across social media due to Cherries summer business after their first European qualification, but what is each signings rating out of 10, and has it been a success or failure so far?

Now that the first portion of the season is complete, it is time to rate the four new arrivals that came through the door, with Antonio Silva, Michele Di Gregorio, Alvaro Rodriguez and Juanlu Sanchez joining as the Cherries prepared for a season combining Premier League and Europa League football.

Antonio Silva – 8.5/10

The standout signing of the summer. Silva arrived from Benfica for a reported initial fee of around £21m, potentially rising to £25.7m, and already looks like an important addition to the defensive unit.

At just 22, he has considerable experience for his age and gives Bournemouth another high-level option at centre-back following Marcos Senesi's departure. His composure, defensive awareness and ability to play out from the back make him particularly well suited to the demands of modern football. An 8.5 feels justified, with the potential for that rating to rise considerably over the season.

Michele Di Gregorio – 6/10

The Italian goalkeeper is a slightly harder signing to assess. Arriving from Juventus on a season-long loan, Di Gregorio provides valuable competition and experience between the sticks.

However, with Bournemouth already possessing options in goal, there is a question over how much of a difference the move will ultimately make. It is sensible squad building, but perhaps not the most transformative piece of business. Six out of ten feels about right.

Alvaro Rodriguez – 5/10

Rodriguez is arguably the biggest gamble. Bournemouth reportedly paid around £21m for the forward, making him one of the club's major investments of the summer.

There is clearly potential, but the early signs have not yet convinced that he can consistently deliver at Premier League level. With competition for attacking places already fierce, Rodriguez needs to find his feet quickly. For now, five out of ten reflects the uncertainty rather than writing him off.

Juanlu Sanchez – 4/10

Juanlu receives the lowest rating, largely because he has yet to establish himself as the answer at right-back. Bournemouth paid a reported £9.4m initially, with the deal potentially reaching £11.1m.

With Adam Smith continuing to impress and other options available, Juanlu faces a battle for regular minutes. There is plenty of time for him to change the narrative, but at this stage, four out of ten is a fair reflection of his impact.

Ultimately, Bournemouth's summer business was not perfect, but it was far from a failure. Silva looks like a major addition as a replacement for Marcos Senesi, Di Gregorio strengthens the squad and adds valuable competition for Djordje Petrovic, while Rodriguez and Juanlu remain projects to develop. With four new players added ahead of a historic European campaign, the window should be viewed as a success with room for improvement.
