Player Ratings: Arsenal 1-0 Hull City
Nov 7, 2026 6:26 PM

Player ratings as Arsenal beat Hull City at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon, courtesy of Martin Ødegaard's second-half winner.

Arsenal enter the international break top of the Premier League table courtesy of a Martin Ødegaard second-half winner over Hull City.

Whilst Hull looked like they could hold the reigning champions to a stalemate, Mikel Arteta's side ramped up the pressure after the break and ensured they left with all three points.

Here are our player ratings for the win.

Starting XI:

David Raya: 7

Related stories

Raya was only called into action a handful of times this afternoon, though his save to deny Semi Ajayi at the half hour mark was deserved of all three points.

Jurriën Timber: 6

Timber attempted to find Noni Madueke with lofted balls down the byline on a number of occasions, and he was found overlapping both Madueke and Ødegaard. However, defensively he won under half of his duels and made just one tackle, though nothing proved costly.

Ezri Konsa: 7

William Saliba is yet to return to full fitness, though Konsa could not have done much more over the last few months to stake his claim to partner Gabriel. He denied Oli McBurnie a single shot at goal, despite the physical Scotsman standing taller than him.

Gabriel Magalhães: 7

Gabriel was as imperious as ever at the back, and only Konsa completed more defensive contributions than the Brazilian. The defender was also creative in launching Arsenal attacks, including a couple of lofted balls into the box from central areas.

Riccardo Calafiori: 6

After an error that didn't prove costly in the first-half, Calafiori lost just one duel and proved assured in possession. The Italian was arguably failed by a relatively stale Arsenal set-up, and his 'free bird' role couldn't be as exploitative as usual.

Bruno Guimarães: 7

Guimarães served as a nice metronome in Arsenal's tedious efforts this afternoon, and was fairly creative in some of his actions to break past Hull's defensive wall. However, the Brazilian arguably still hasn't done enough to cement himself as a starter in midfield.

Declan Rice: 6

Rice understandably looked a little jaded after playing two full matches in the last week. He had a few efforts which didn't trouble the goalkeeper and was rarely forced into action defensively before finally getting a deserved rest on the hour mark.

Martin Ødegaard: 7

Ødegaard tried his best to find creative solutions to bypass a physical defensive block deployed by Hull, popping up in sharp positions and attempting some creative passes beyond the Tigers' defence. On a day where Arsenal were just desperate to break the deadlock, the Norwegian was proactive in his search, and it paid off as he capitalised on Konstantinos Tzolakis' parry.

Noni Madueke: 8

Madueke was a live wire on the right flank, and what Mikel Arteta's side needed on a stale afternoon at The Emirates. Whilst he could, and probably should, have left with a goal, he can hold his head high knowing that his powerful shot led to Ødegaard's winner.

Christos Tzolis: 5

Tzolis felt uncharacteristically indecisive in the final third, but still managed to test the goalkeeper a few times.

Kai Havertz: 4

It felt like the game would have been more suited to his Swedish counterpart in Viktor Gyökeres. There was a clear plan to find the striker in behind, though he strayed offside three times in the first-half, and Gyökeres' presence would have caused more disruption for a physically dominant back-three.

Substitutes:

Mikel Merino: 7

Mikel Merino did his job when called upon to replace Rice. He didn't put a foot wrong, and ensured Arsenal got over the line both with and without the ball.

Viktor Gyökeres: 6

Replacing a poor Havertz, Gyökeres' physical presence posed a new challenge for Hull's defence, who had settled into the match with little disruption. Whilst he touched the ball just 12 times, he allowed others to have more freedoms through his occupation of the defence.

Eberechi Eze: 6

Eze appeared desperate to make an impact, but was unable to directly. However, his creativity allowed Arsenal to see out the victory after Ødegaard's winner.

Piero Hincapié: 7

Hincapié offered more width on the left flank, after Calafiori proved ineffective at times in the congested middle of the park. He played a good ball into the box from the byline just moments after coming on, which injected belief into the Arsenal side.

Martin Zubimendi: N/A

Zubimendi was on the pitch for a handful of minutes and didn't touch the ball.

Arsenal return to action in two weeks, as they travel to Newcastle United.
