Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly made enquiries over Gabriel Martinelli ahead of the summer window, but the current report stops short of suggesting Arsenal have received a formal offer.
Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly taken an interest in Gabriel Martinelli ahead of the summer transfer window, with French outlet Media Foot claiming in an exclusive report that the Ligue 1 club have made checks on the Arsenal forward’s situation. PSG reportedly have sought information on both the player’s stance and the conditions of a possible move this summer, presenting Martinelli as one of the names under consideration as the French champions assess attacking options.
Martinelli’s season has been mixed. His Premier League output has fallen to one goal and three assists in 25 appearances, after returning eight goals and four assists in 33 league games last season and 15 goals in 36 in 2022/23. Even so, his overall numbers remain respectable, with 11 goals and five assists in 42 matches across all competitions, boosted by stronger returns in the Champions League and FA Cup.
At this stage, the line is best treated as reported interest rather than a developed transfer push. Media Foot says PSG are in the market for a high-level attacking addition and describes Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez as the priority, with Martinelli listed among the alternatives being explored. That framing matters. It suggests the Arsenal winger is part of the conversation in Paris, but not necessarily the leading target at this point.
Any move would raise obvious questions from Arsenal’s side. Martinelli signed a new long-term contract with the club in February 2023, a deal that runs until 2027 with the option of an additional year. The winger marked his 200th appearance for the club in January 2025, a milestone that reflected both his longevity and his importance since arriving from Ituano in 2019. Still only 24, the Brazil international remains one of the more established wide options in Mikel Arteta’s squad, which would make any potential negotiation significant both financially and from a sporting perspective.
From PSG’s point of view, the attraction is not difficult to understand. Martinelli is an experienced Champions League-level attacker, he is entering his prime, and he has already built a substantial body of work in the Premier League. The report from France also claims he is approaching a point where a new challenge could appeal, though that is presented as part of Media Foot’s own information rather and has not yet been publicly confirmed by club nor player.
That leaves it as a situation to monitor heading into the summer. Arsenal are still competing for major honours, and any success in the closing weeks of the season would only strengthen Martinelli’s profile and, potentially, his value. For now, PSG’s reported interest is just that. But with the French club assessing attacking targets, Martinelli may yet become one of Arsenal’s key names to watch as the window nears.
