Mikel Arteta has named his Arsenal side to face Nottingham Forest in this afternoon’s Premier League clash.
Arsenal have confirmed their starting eleven as they travel to Nottingham Forest on matchweek seven in the Premier League.
The Gunners are looking to reclaim their second-place position in the league table after last weekend’s hard-fought victory over Leeds United. Midfield maestro, Bruno Guimarães scored the winning goal last weekend at the Emirates Stadium and starts in midfield today.
Mikel Arteta has made just two changes for this afternoons clash from the previous Premier League outing with Eberechi Eze stepping in for Noni Madueke in attack and Guimarães keeping his starting place from midweek in the Champions League.
The backline remains unchanged from the Leeds United game with Ben White replacing Jurriën Timber at right-back from Tuesday night’s Champions League clash despite scoring the opening goal in the 3-0 victory.
Bukayo Saka also starts for Arsenal today, stepping in for Noni Madueke after the win over Lille. Today’s fixture is only the second time Arsenal have started with Eberechi Eze, Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz in the starting line-up in a Premier League game with the first coming in a 1-0 win over Burnley last May.
Ezri Konsa and Gabriel Magalhães look to continue their solid form at the back amidst the absence of William Saliba, despite the Frenchman making solid grounds in his recovery from his long-term back injury.
Both Piero Hincapié and Martin Zubimendi miss out on the starting line-up due to injuries they both sustained after last weekends game, however, Zubimendi is declared fig enough to make the bench. Mikel Arteta was optimistic on both cases in his pre-match press conference.
The Gunners bench is once again stacked with quality, Myles Lewis-Skelly is unlucky to miss out on a starting place after a run of strong performances whilst Viktor Gyökeres once again finds himself on the bench from the start in a Premier League game.
Arsenal starting XI: Raya, White, Konsa, Magalhães, Calafiori, Rice, Guimarães, Ødegaard, Saka, Eze, Havertz
Substitutes: Meslier, Timber, Mosquera, Lewis-Skelly, Zubimendi, Merino, Dowman, Madueke, Gyökeres
Nottingham Forest starting XI: Sels, Cunha, Diomande, Murillo, Muñoz, Schlager, Dominguez, Williams, Ndoye, McAtee, Delap
Substitutes: Victor, Milenković, Aina, Sangaré, Netz, Yates, Kalimuendo, Hudson-Odoi, Wood
Nottingham Forest are looking for their first home win of this Premier League season but will be without both Nicolò Savona and Igor Jesus as well as star player, Morgan Gibbs-White.
Gibbs-White scored 15 times for Nottingham Forest in the Premier League last season as well as providing four assists and already has three goal contributions in only six league games so he will be the biggest miss for Olivier Glasner’s men.
The match gets underway at 16:30 BST, with the match shown on Sky Sports Main Event in the UK.
