Mikel Arteta has been nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Month award for October, after leading Arsenal to three wins from three league games.

Mikel Arteta has been nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Month award for October, according to IamCrisJ, with the full list of nominees set to be announced at 11am on Thursday.

The Arsenal boss led his side to a perfect month in the league, winning all three of their games, scoring five goals and conceding just once.

The run began with a 2-1 win over Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium, with Arsenal coming from behind to claim all three points. It was their first league outing since a 3-0 defeat at Brighton, and it set the tone for the rest of the month.

Arteta's side then travelled to Nottingham Forest and came away with a 1-0 victory, despite Arsenal failing to score on each of their previous two visits to the City Ground. Noni Madueke's deflected strike in the 80th minute proved to be the winner, after he came off the bench at half-time.

The month ended with a 2-0 win over Everton at the Emirates. Ezri Konsa scored his first goal for the club after seven minutes, before Gabriel doubled the lead in the second half from Ben White's cross, marking his 200th Premier League appearance.

The three victories took Arsenal to 21 points from their opening eight games and kept them level with Manchester City at the top of the table at the end of October.

Arsenal also produced positive results in Europe during the month, beating Lille 3-0 at the Emirates and drawing 2-2 with Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena. However, the Manager of the Month award only takes Premier League matches into account, so the shock Carabao Cup exit at Fleetwood Town will not count against Arteta.

The Gunners have since moved three points clear at the top of the table, after Kai Havertz's goal secured a 1-0 win at Liverpool on Sunday, their first league win at Anfield since 2012.

If successful, it would be Arteta's ninth Premier League Manager of the Month award. His most recent came in March 2026, when Arsenal won all three of their league games during the title run-in.

Arteta is currently joint-sixth on the all-time list alongside Martin O'Neill and Harry Redknapp, two behind Jürgen Klopp. Sir Alex Ferguson holds the record with a staggering 27, leading former Arsenal boss Arséne Wenger who holds 15.

Arteta will discover his competition for the award when the full shortlist is published on Thursday morning. The winner is decided by a combination of a public vote and a panel of football experts.
