Player ratings as Declan Rice's late strike secured Arsenal a valuable point away at the Allianz Arena against German giants Bayern Munich.

Arsenal walked away with a hard earned point against Bayern Munich courtesy of goals from Eberechi Eze and Declan Rice.

A 2-2 draw meant it was the first time the Gunners had avoided defeat at the Allianz Arena since 2013.

Starting XI:

David Raya - 8

Not really much he could do about the two Bayern Munich goals. Provided a top save to deny Dayot Upamecano early on in the second half. His distribution was also extremely consistent as well.

Jurriën Timber - 6

Timber was certainly not at his best. He failed to get into many dangerous areas when going forward and defensively struggled to handle the blistering pace that Bayern had on display. Gave away an unfortunate penalty for handball during the second half.

Gabriel Magalhães - 7

Was solid throughout the game. Won most of his duels and was consistent with his usual collection of clearances and blocks. Commanded the backline well when necessary and his progressive passes from the back were good.

Ezri Konsa - 7

Was caught out of position multiple times during the game but he made up for it with his relentless defensive contributions. He made a superb block to deny Harry Kane in the first half and was a handful for the Bayern attackers to beat one on one.

Riccardo Calafiori - 5

The Italian failed to really impact the game, which was similar to the Nottingham Forest win and completely out of character. He had a few efforts on goal in the first half which were off target but apart from that he felt slightly off the pace and failed to contribute much defensively.

Bruno Guimarães - 7

He was extremely unlucky not to find the back of the net and score his first Champions League goal for Arsenal. First was a volley from a corner though he failed to hit the target, and then he had a powerful header in the second half superbly saved by Manuel Neuer. His link up play was brilliant and his driving runs too. Overall a solid performance from the Brazilian.

Declan Rice - 8

Finished off a beautiful Arsenal move to score the equaliser for the Gunners. Helped out defensively and was typically dominant in the centre of the box. Was unlucky not the register an assist from a corner after Neuer’s world class save but was still good for Arteta’s side.

Martin Ødegaard - 7

Controlled the game well and pressed relentlessly on the Bayern backline. Continually seeked playing balls which could cut the German’s open and on one occasion he succeeded with a beautiful long range ball which was brought down and finished by Eberechi Eze for the opening goal in the game. A top captain’s performance in a difficult stadium to play.

Bukayo Saka - N/A

Was substituted due to injury after just seven minutes. Looked lively when he did have the ball and showed impressive strength to hold off defenders.

Noni Madueke - 7

Madueke was really impressive tonight. His passing was accurate and dangerous and his decision making was also really quick and effective. Looked comfortable on both wings and overall seemed confident and hungry. A good display from the Englishman.

Kai Havertz - 5

Just like the last couple of games, Havertz really struggled to get into the game and affect it in any capacity. He won a few aerial duels but apart from that he just didn’t look threatening at all and made it relatively comfortable for the Bayern defence to deal with him.

Substitutes:

Eberechi Eze - 8

Scored a brilliant goal. Allowed the ball to roll in front of his body before unleashing a clinical strike into the bottom corner giving Neuer absolutely no chance. He also looked confident on the ball. Beating his man on multiple occasions and getting into some dangerous areas. Much better from Eze.

Viktor Gyökeres - 8

Just for the assist alone Gyokeres deserves this rating. His hold up play was good and his work ethic as well. With him experiencing such a difficult period, his professionalism when he comes off the bench is brilliant. He gets on with it and genuinely makes a meaningful impact on the game.

Myles Lewis-Skelly - 6

Did his usual stuff and got into some good areas. His confidence on the ball is incredible and his ability to glide past players is tremendous too. Was caught on the ball once or twice which luckily led to nothing but overall it was solid from Lewis-Skelly.

Mikel Merino - 6

Not too much to say for Merino. Came on to offer something different in the last five minutes. Had a shot blocked in stoppage time but apart from that, there was little to discuss regarding his cameo.

Arsenal welcome Everton to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday as they look to extend their league winning run to three since the 3-0 defeat at Brighton.
