Bukayo Saka could miss at least six weeks of action after suffering a quad injury during Arsenal’s 2-2 Champions League draw with Bayern Munich, with reports suggesting the England international could be sidelined for between six and eight weeks.

Arsenal have been dealt a serious injury blow as Bukayo Saka could face up to eight weeks on the sidelines after being substituted during the first ten minutes against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night. The England international seemed to have injured his quad after playing a ball out towards Noni Madueke. He instantly went down clutching his leg and signalling to the bench to be taken off.

According to HandOfArsenal, Saka will be out of action for a minimum of six weeks. There are more scans to be conducted which will reveal the full extent of the injury. Overall it's a huge blow for the Gunners and it will hand Mikel Arteta a difficult selection headache as his winger options continue to decrease.

Saka has started the new season relatively well but he has the Arsenal fanbase torn as a lot of fans believe he isn't performing to the level he usually can. He has scored three Premier League goals. One on the opening night against Coventry City, another away at Villa Park against Aston Villa and a penalty to seal the three points against Sunderland. But his performances have been difficult to watch at times. Saka has struggled to beat his man in one on one scenarios and his usual clinical nature in front of goal seems to have taken a hit. There have been multiple occasions where Saka has found himself in some extremely dangerous situations but maybe a lack of confidence has prevented him from executing those moments.

Saka will now join Christos Tzolis on the injury list which leaves Arsenal light in the wide areas. This fresh injury for Saka does hand 16-year-old Max Dowman a huge opportunity to play some much needed minutes amongst the first team and maybe even put pressure on Saka's position when he returns to full fitness. Dowman already has two goals to his name this season in the Carabao Cup against Ipswich Town. With Arsenal playing Everton on Saturday, Dowman may feel he can replicate what he did in the same fixture last season where his cross eventually led to a last minute winner from Viktor Gyökeres and then he scored a goal for himself in the dying seconds to seal a crucial three points for the Gunners which ultimately helped them to a first league title in 22 years.
