The Belgian winger is stalling on Arsenal contract talks to prioritize international glory, as Besiktas and Roma circle for his signature following a standout tournament display.
Leandro Trossard is set to ‘assess’ his options after the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup this summer according to reports from The Mirror this evening. The 31 year-old is set to enter the final year of his contract this summer and there is yet to be any significant movement from Arsenal to renew his current deal.
Trossard managed 8 goals and 10 assists for Arsenal across 2025/26 and has also been one of The Red Devils’ most consistent performers over the current World Cup and much like the squad as a whole, has really grown into the tournament over recent matches, highlighted by his brace in a 5-1 thrashing of New Zealand.

They have set up a RO32 tie against Senegal tomorrow night at 9:00pm UK time.
Turkish side Besiktas are said to be one of the clubs interested in the services of the left winger, having previously sent a bid of £20m for the Arsenal man in September 2025 which was rejected by the North London club at the time. According to reports now coming out today, they are ready to return with an extremely similar offer in the hope of luring the Belgian to Turkey.
One thing is for certain is that no talks or any form of deal will be negotiated or agreed until after the World Cup with the players camp making it very clear that he wishes for no distractions as Rudi Garcia and his squad look to equal or potentially even beat their third place finish in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, having beaten England 2-0 in the 3rd/4th play off match in Russia.
As well as Besiktas, fierce rivals Fenerbahce have also shown an interest in recent months on top of Saudi Arabian side Al Diraiyah and Italian side Roma so there are a lot of potential suitors lining up if he does decide to part ways with Mikel Arteta this summer.
He was even asked about his future in the build up to Belgium’s 5-0 win over Tunisia in a pre-tournament friendly back on 6th June 2026. He responded by saying: “At the moment, I am still at Arsenal so there is not much more to say on that, we will see what happens.”
Trossard is likely to start for Belgium in tomorrow night's RO32 tie against Senegal, looking to overcome a tough opponent and make it through to the RO16 where they would set up a tie against one of the USA or Bosnia & Herzegovina for a spot in the quarter-finals.
