Keith Andrews' Brentford held on for a hard fought point away to AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Brentford made the trip to the South Coast to face AFC Bournemouth on match day four of the Premier League season.

Keith Andrews opting for the following XI; Kelleher; Hickey, Ajer, Schuster, Lewis-Potter; Sangare, Yarmoliuk, Janelt; Anthony, Thiago, Schade.

Within the first two minutes, the Bees could have taken the lead. Following a quick break down the right, Anthony whipped a ball in for Thiago, who could not connect despite being well placed. In the aftermath, a Lewis-Potter effort kissed the woodwork on its way off target.

Seven minutes in, the hosts should have had an opener themselves, but Antonio Silva's header from a set piece was way off target. More luck than judgement with that one, a let off.

However, it was Brentford who would be the ones to take the lead. After great pressing from Anthony and Sangare helped win the ball back in the corner, Yarmoliuk whipped a cross in and there was Schade showing excellent movement to head home. Keeper should probably do better, but no complaints.

There could be complaints about the game management, however, as within three minutes, the hosts had equalised through Justin Kluivert. Shortly after, they had a chance to make it 2-1, but Rayan could not convert from close range. Perhaps a little fortunately for Brentford, the two sides went into the break at 1-1.

Nevertheless, it would take less than ten minutes in the second half for Bournemouth to go ahead, thanks to Marcus Tavernier. At this point, things could have spiralled out of control.

However, the complete opposite happened. Indeed so, as just three minutes or so later, it was 2-2. With the hosts completely in control, goalkeeper Dorde Petrovic gave the ball straight to Schade, who showed excellent composure to fire home for his second goal of the afternoon, and third of the season.

Not long after, Andrews made a triple change - with Damsgaard, Diouf and Ouattara replacing Yarmoliuk, Lewis-Potter and Anthony on the hour mark. 11 minutes later, Kayode replaced Hickey.

Despite some late pressure from the hosts, Brentford were able to hold on for a decent point on the road. Performances need to improve though. Onto Reading in the Carabao Cup.
