Predicted starting lineup and all the latest Brentford team news ahead of Sunday afternoon's trip to Hull City.

Jannik Schuster is fit and available for selection as Brentford travel to take on Hull City away from home on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League.

The Bees currently sit sixth in the Premier League table and Keith Andrews' side will be aiming to bounce back at the MKM Stadium having suffered their first defeat of the season last weekend with a 2-1 loss at home to Liverpool.

Hosts Hull City have enjoyed a positive start to their first top flight campaign since 2016/17 despite a 1-0 defeat last weekend at Fulham, with Sergej Jakirovic leading the Tigers to ninth place so far.

The two sides last faced each other in February 2020 in the Sky Bet Championship, as Brentford ran out 5-1 winners thanks to a Said Benrahma hat-trick.

Latest Brentford Team News

Jannik Schuster is set to return to the matchday squad, Keith Andrews has confirmed.

The 20-year-old was substituted at half time in the 2-2 draw at Aston Villa as a result of a knock suffered on international duty with Austria's Under 21 side and missed the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool due to illness but has now returned to full training.

Asked about Schuster's fitness in his pre-match press conference, Andrews said: "Jannik just had a bit of a troubled week going into the Liverpool game, really. A bit of a knock from international duty crept up on him during the Villa game, and then he wasn't particularly well for a few days, so it was just a very disruptive week."

"But he's been back training the last few days, so he's back to himself, more or less."

Yehor Yarmoliuk and Vitaly Janelt are both suspended having picked up red cards against Liverpool.

Antoni Milambo, Kaye Furo and Josh Dasilva all remain absent due to injury.

Whilst not officially confirmed, Rico Henry's recent absence from the squad is also believed to be injury related as opposed to tactical.

Predicted Lineup

The return of Jannik Schuster along with a return to fitness for both Sepp Van Den Berg and Nathan Collins creates a selection headache at centre back for Keith Andrews.

Van Den Berg and club captain Collins have formed Brentford's most common centre back pairing over the past two seasons, however the form of both Kristoffer Ajer and Jannik Schuster in their absence so far this campaign has been impressive.

Ajer began the season off the back of an impressive World Cup campaign, and the 28-year-old's position in the side currently looks the most secure of the four centre back options having started every league game so far.

Collins began the season alongside Ajer in Brentford's back four, however was kept out for just over a month with a calf strain suffered in the 1-1 draw with Sunderland, and only returned to the bench last weekend.

In the absence of Collins, summer signing Schuster stepped into the side and impressed quickly with a run of games which included a man of the match performance in the 3-0 win over Chelsea.

Meanwhile Van Den Berg, who missed the start of the season with a groin problem, made his first appearance of the season against Liverpool as Schuster missed out with illness.

The absence of Yarmoliuk and Janelt due to suspension will force changes in midfield. Club-record signing Mamadou Sangare looks all but guaranteed to return to the starting XI, however there is less certainty over who will partner him in the pivot.

Mathias Jensen, who has played predominantly as an attacking midfielder under Andrews, looks the most likely option to partner Sangare, with a deeper role in the team for Jensen potentially seeing a return to the side for Mikkel Damsgaard in the number 10 role.

The versatile Aaron Hickey has occasionally filled in in midfield and could provide a more defensive option should Andrews want to keep Jensen further forward, whilst Keane Lewis-Potter could also be an option in the middle of the park, with any shift in his position likely to result in El Hadji Malick Diouf coming back in at left back.

In attack, top scorer Kevin Schade, who was only able to start from the bench against Liverpool, is expected to be fully fit and ready to start, whilst Dango Ouattara will hope to keep his spot in the team after a positive first half last weekend, although Jaidon Anthony currently seems the more likely of the two to keep his spot.

Igor Thiago looks all but certain to lead the line ahead of Callum Wilson despite a tricky run of form in front of goal that has led a section of supporters to debate his starting spot.

Predicted Brentford XI to face Hull City: Kelleher; Kayode, Ajer, Collins, Lewis-Potter; Sangare, Jensen; Anthony, Damsgaard, Schade; Thiago
