Brentford have no fresh concerns from the draw at Leeds, although Josh Dasilva has suffered a setback while continuing his return to full fitness.

Mathias Jensen will miss Brentford's Premier League meeting with Sunderland on Saturday as he continues to recover from the minor issue which kept him out at Leeds United.

The midfielder was absent from Keith Andrews' squad at Elland Road last weekend and has not recovered in time for Sunderland's visit to the Gtech Community Stadium this weekend.

Jensen could also miss the Bees' following game, despite Andrews stressing that his injury is not serious.

“No, he won’t be back,” Andrews confirmed. “He has a little issue. He’ll miss this week and possibly next week.

“We’ll see how he settles over the next couple of weeks. It’s nothing serious, but he certainly won’t be available for tomorrow.”

Jensen had started Brentford's opening Premier League win over Tottenham Hotspur before dropping out for the trip to Leeds after picking up a strain in training.

Andrews brought Mikkel Damsgaard into his midfield at Elland Road, with Mamadou Sangare and Vitaly Janelt also starting as the Bees drew 1-1.

There were no further injuries from that game.

“The usual knocks and bruises, as you’d imagine with the level of game we had at Leeds,” Andrews said.

“The players have recovered well and trained well. We’re in a really good place.”

That leaves Jensen as the only player to have dropped out of the senior group since the start of the league campaign.

Josh Dasilva, however, has suffered a setback as he works his way back towards first-team football, having picked up a hamstring injury in Brentford’s Under-21s 5-1 win over Sunderland during the week.

Dasilva had been building up his minutes after a long spell out and will now remain unavailable until after the international break.

“That’ll knock Josh out until the international break,” Andrews explained.

“It’s nothing too serious, but it’s obviously disappointing for him as he’s making his way back to that type of level, intensity and the performance levels he needs to get to.

“That takes a little bit of time from where he’s been and the time out he’s had. It’s disappointing for him, we’re disappointed, but we’ll keep going and keep pushing Josh to get back to that level.”

Van den Berg and Milambo Continue Their Recoveries

Sepp van den Berg is also expected to be back after the international break at the end of the month

The defender has been out with a groin injury, but has returned to training on grass over the last 10 days.

He will not be involved against Sunderland, with Brentford instead working towards having him available when the domestic schedule resumes.

“Sepp is making really good progress,” Andrews said. “He’s been back on the grass for the last week or 10 days, so he’s getting there.

“He’s in a good place to come back after the international break. That’s realistic.”

Antoni Milambo is further along in his rehabilitation from the anterior cruciate ligament injury, which has kept him out for an extended period.

The midfielder took part in an 11-against-11 session on Wednesday, his first work at that scale and intensity since the injury, and trained again with the senior group afterwards.

Brentford are now looking at getting him back into a competitive game with the B team.

“Antoni’s looking really good,” Andrews added. “He’s moving well. He was involved in an 11 v 11 on Wednesday, which was his first involvement in that type of scale and intensity, and on that size of pitch.

“He recovered well from that and trained with us again this morning. The plan for Antoni is to be involved in a B-team game over the next couple of weeks.”

Jensen, Dasilva, Van den Berg and Milambo will all miss Sunderland's visit, but Andrews otherwise has the same senior group available from the draw at Leeds.

Brentford go into Saturday's game with four points from their opening two Premier League matches after beating Tottenham 3-0 and taking a point from Elland Road.
