Brentford broke their transfer record for Mamadou Sangaré and added Malick Diouf, Jaidon Anthony, Jannik Schuster and Callum Wilson this summer.

Brentford have completed their summer transfer business after adding five senior players to Keith Andrews' squad and allowing several familiar faces to leave West London.

Mamadou Sangaré was the biggest deal, arriving from Lens for a club-record fee, while El Hadji Malick Diouf followed from West Ham late in the window.

Jaidon Anthony and Jannik Schuster were added earlier in the summer, with Callum Wilson joining on a free transfer.

Ethan Pinnock's seven-year chapter at the Bees came to an end with a move to Coventry City, where he joined former Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka. Whilst Jordan Henderson also departed after one season and subsequently signed for Chelsea.

Here is Brentford's signings and departures from the 2026 summer transfer window.

Brentford Signings

Mamadou Sangaré - £39m from Lens

Sangaré became Brentford's record signing when his move from Lens was completed in August.

The Mali international signed a five-year contract with an option for another season with the Bees.

Sangaré made 33 appearances in all competitions as Lens finished second in Ligue 1 and won the Coupe de France. He was selected in the UNFP Ligue 1 Team of the Year and won the Prix Marc-Vivien Foé, awarded to the best African player in the French top flight.

His arrival followed the departures of Onyeka and Henderson from Brentford's midfield.

Andrews put him straight into the side against Tottenham Hotspur on the opening weekend of the Premier League season. Sangaré announced his arrival in style, with a man of the match performance in their 3-0 win.

El Hadji Malick Diouf - £35m plus add-ons from West Ham

Diouf was Brentford's final senior addition of the summer window.

The transfer fee was officially undisclosed, although the deal has been reported at an initial £35 million with a further £5 million potentially due in add-ons.

Diouf signed a five-year contract, with Brentford holding an option for another season.

The Senegal international spent the 2025/26 campaign with West Ham following his move from Slavia Prague and also represented his country at the World Cup.

At 21, he returns immediately to the Premier League following West Ham's relegation.

Andrews already had Rico Henry, Keane Lewis-Potter and Jayden Meghoma available on the left, but Diouf offers another option after establishing himself in English football during his first season.

He also reunites with Wilson after the pair played together at West Ham.

Jaidon Anthony - £17m from Burnley

Anthony joined Brentford following Burnley's relegation from the Premier League.

The clubs did not disclose the fee, although the transfer has been reported at around £17 million. He signed a four-year contract with an option for another season.

Anthony arrived with 70 Premier League appearances for Bournemouth and Burnley behind him.

He scored eight times in the competition last season, taking his overall Premier League record to 11 goals and five assists.

Brentford already had Kevin Schade, Dango Ouattara and Lewis-Potter among their wide options, so Anthony arrived to increase the competition and depth rather than fill a vacant position.

The 26-year-old also returned to London after spending a decade in Arsenal's academy earlier in his career.

Jannik Schuster - £16.5m from Red Bull Salzburg

Schuster was the first senior deal Brentford agreed ahead of the new season.

The Austrian centre-back signed until June 2031, with the club holding an option to extend his contract for another year.

He was only 19 when the transfer was agreed but had already made 29 appearances for Salzburg during 2025/26, including three in the Europa League.

Schuster had previously played 39 league games for Liefering and captained Salzburg's Under-19 side during their run to the UEFA Youth League semi-finals.

His first season in England began with Nathan Collins, Sepp van den Berg, Kristoffer Ajer and Pinnock also at the club. Pinnock's subsequent departure has since reduced the number of senior centre-backs ahead of him.

Callum Wilson - Free transfer from West Ham

Wilson joined Brentford on a one-year contract after leaving West Ham.

The 34-year-old scored seven Premier League goals in 32 appearances last season despite starting only 11 matches.

His career in the competition has also included lengthy spells with Bournemouth and Newcastle United.

Wilson's arrival gives Andrews another senior centre-forward alongside Igor Thiago, who remains established after his prolific 2025/26 season.

It also adds an experienced striker to a group which includes 19-year-old Kaye Furo.

Brentford Departures

Ethan Pinnock - £6m to Coventry City

Pinnock's seven-year Brentford career ended with a permanent move to Coventry City towards the end of August.

The fee has been reported at around £6 million.

Pinnock joined Brentford from Barnsley in 2019 and leaves having made 216 appearances in all competitions, scoring 12 goals.

He played throughout Brentford's final two Championship seasons, including the 2021 play-off final victory which secured promotion to the Premier League, before establishing himself in the top flight.

Pinnock was named Brentford's Supporters' Player of the Year following the 2023/24 campaign.

He entered this summer with one year remaining on his contract and joined a Coventry side which had already signed Onyeka.

Frank Onyeka - Undisclosed fee to Coventry City

Onyeka's transfer became permanent after Coventry secured promotion to the Premier League.

The Nigeria international had initially joined Frank Lampard's side on loan in February, with the agreement containing an obligation for Coventry to buy him if they went up.

Their Championship title win triggered that clause.

Onyeka leaves Brentford after 87 appearances in all competitions.

He was Brentford's first signing following promotion to the Premier League when he arrived from Midtjylland in 2021, but regular starts became harder to secure later in his time with the club.

A loan at Augsburg followed in 2024/25 before his move to Coventry midway through last season.

Jordan Henderson - Free transfer to Chelsea

Henderson left Brentford after just one season.

The midfielder arrived from Ajax on a free transfer in July 2025 and initially signed a two-year contract, but the remaining year was terminated by mutual agreement this summer.

Henderson made 34 appearances for Brentford and earned a place in England's squad for the 2026 World Cup during his time in West London.

He subsequently joined Chelsea on a free transfer and signed a two-year contract.

His departure came before Brentford broke their transfer record to sign Sangaré, while Yehor Yarmoliuk took the No.6 shirt for the new season.

Ryan Trevitt - Free transfer to Wigan Athletic

Trevitt left Brentford following the expiry of his contract.

The midfielder initially joined the B team in 2020 and progressed into the senior squad, making five first-team appearances.

His development was interrupted by several injuries, including during periods away from Brentford when he was attempting to build regular senior minutes.

The club confirmed in May that Trevitt would leave when his contract expired.

He subsequently joined Wigan Athletic permanently after spending time with the League One club during the previous campaign.

Jayden Meghoma - Loan to Portsmouth

Jayden Meghoma joined Portsmouth on a season-long loan on deadline day.

The 20-year-old returned to Brentford this summer after spending the 2025/26 campaign with Rangers, where he made 44 appearances across all competitions.

That followed an earlier Championship loan with Preston North End during the second half of the 2024/25 season.

Meghoma was involved with Keith Andrews' squad during pre-season, but Brentford's options on the left increased following the arrival of El Hadji Malick Diouf from West Ham.

Rico Henry and Keane Lewis-Potter are also available on that side, while Meghoma will now return to the Championship with Portsmouth for the remainder of the campaign.

The defender has made four senior appearances for Brentford since joining from Southampton in 2024, including his Premier League debut against Chelsea.

Other Permanent Brentford Departures

Ethan Brierley joined Huddersfield Town for an undisclosed fee after three seasons with Brentford. The midfielder made his first-team debut in the Carabao Cup during 2023/24 and spent last season gaining further senior experience.

Iwan Morgan completed a permanent move to Grimsby Town. The striker joined Brentford in 2023 and scored 25 goals during the 2024/25 season before continuing his development in senior football.

Tony Yogane moved to Aberdeen after three years with Brentford. He progressed through the B team and made his senior debut against Leyton Orient in the Carabao Cup in 2024.

Ethan Laidlaw joined Falkirk following a final season in which he scored 15 goals and registered 10 assists for Brentford B. He was also voted the side's Players' Player of the Year.

Other Permanent Brentford Signings

Joseph Wheeler-Henry completed a permanent move from Chelsea after initially joining Brentford on loan during the second half of last season.

The 18-year-old defender will continue with Brentford's development group rather than immediately joining Andrews' senior squad.

Five senior additions therefore enter the new season with Andrews: Sangaré, Diouf, Anthony, Schuster and Wilson.

Pinnock and Henderson are the most established first-team players to have departed, leaving Brentford with a changed midfield, another young centre-back and additional options in attack without a wholesale rebuild of last season's squad.
