The Brentford midfielder recorded an assist and 27 defensive contributions across his first two Premier League appearances of the season.
Mamadou Sangare has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award after starting both of Brentford's opening league games.
The 24-year-old has played every minute for Keith Andrews' side so far, first in the 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur and then in the 1-1 draw at Leeds United.
The Mali international made his mark in his Premier League debut at home to Tottenham. After a one-two, Sangare drove forward before playing the ball across goal for Keane Lewis-Potter to finish.
His numbers from the opening two matches make clear why he has been nominated. Making 27 defensive contributions through the opening matches including 12 recoveries, six tackles and five interceptions, as well as winning 12 duels. Whilst also creating four chances for the Bees
It is an immediate return from a player Brentford broke their transfer record to sign from Lens during the summer.
Sangare arrived in West London after making 33 appearances in all competitions for the French club during 2025/26. Lens finished second in Ligue 1 and won the Coupe de France, while Sangare was named in the UNFP Ligue 1 Team of the Year.
He also collected the Prix Marc-Vivien Foé, awarded annually to the best African player in the French top flight.
Brentford completed his transfer before the start of the Premier League season and Andrews put him straight into the team when Tottenham visited on the opening weekend.
Sangare completed the 90 minutes in that victory, with a second start following at Elland Road.
Brentford fell behind against Leeds before leaving with a point, extending their unbeaten start to the campaign, with Sangare seeing out the full 90 minutes again.
His arrival came during a summer in which Brentford made changes in central midfield.
Frank Onyeka completed a permanent move to Coventry City after spending the second half of last season there on loan, while Jordan Henderson left Brentford by mutual consent one year into his two year contract, then signing for Chelsea shortly after.
Sangare was among five senior additions to Andrews' squad and one of four completed before the league season began.
Jannik Schuster, Callum Wilson and Jaidon Anthony were also in before the opening fixture, with El Hadji Malick Diouf completing his move from West Ham later in the window.
For Sangare, the first 180 minutes of Premier League football have brought an assist, four chances created and the defensive contributions showing the impact he is already making at the Bees and how quickly he is already earning respect within the league.
