The Italian standout brushes off Serie A rumors, pledging his loyalty to the Bees as they chase European qualification and a strong finish to a breakout campaign.
Michael Kayode has insisted he is focused on Brentford’s final Premier League games amid reported interest from Juventus.
The 21-year-old has enjoyed an impressive season in west London after joining from Fiorentina, establishing himself as one of the standout Italian players in the Premier League. Kayode has made 35 appearances this season and his form has also been recognised with a Premier League Young Player of the Season nomination.
Speaking in an interview with Tuttosport, Kayode was asked about his future and the possibility of interest from Juventus.
“Honestly, I’m not thinking about returning to Italy,” Kayode said. “I just want to do well, improve here at Brentford and keep growing at this club.
“Obviously, attention from Juventus, like from any top club, is always nice, but I’m very focused on the end of the season.”
That message will be welcome for Brentford as Keith Andrews’ side prepare for their final two matches of the campaign. The Bees remain in the European conversation, although they need a strong finish after their defeat to Manchester City.
Kayode made clear that his immediate priority is helping Brentford push until the final stages of the season.
“Yes, but now I’m only focused on Europe with Brentford,” he added when asked about the possibility of an Italy call-up. “Until the last second we can aim to qualify for the cups, so we don’t want to lower our guard.”
The full-back also spoke warmly about life at Brentford, suggesting he has settled quickly since moving to England.
“Yes, I’m happy here and I’m well,” Kayode said when asked if he still sees himself in the Premier League next season. “At Brentford I’ve found a family. We are a young team, the atmosphere is wonderful.
“Between the staff and the people at the training ground, I feel at home. It was easy for me to settle, despite the normal doubts I had at the beginning. It feels like I’ve been here for ten years.”
Kayode’s comments underline how quickly he has become comfortable in Brentford’s environment. His athleticism, defensive strength and willingness to compete in one-v-one situations have suited the Premier League, and he said the division has been a natural fit for his style.
“I love duels and this is definitely the place best suited to my way of playing,” he said.
Kayode’s performances have naturally attracted attention, but the defender’s public stance is clear. He is focused on finishing the season strongly, improving at Brentford and helping the club chase a European place.
