Georginio Rutter set to lead the line in the Czech Republic as Fabian Hürzeler navigates a depleted squad, balancing fresh injuries with opportunities for fringe stars to seize European glory.

Brighton and Hove Albion fans are set to make the short trip to Prague, ahead of an intriguing encounter between the Seagulls and Jablonec in the Europa Conference League league phase this evening.

Albion fans have become more and more familiar with European football recently, having had an incredible Europa League trip back in 2024.

Fabian Hürzeler's side will be tipped to win the competition, and the test of Jablonec is expected to command some changes to his squad.

Who is available for the Seagulls?

Hürzeler confirmed in his press conference that Pascal Struijk and Femi Azeez are set to remain out injured. Nothing is more Brighton than a player getting suspended for a one-game ban just to be injured for the duration of the suspension anyway!

Azeez continues to be carefully monitored before returning to the side, although he is yet to play for his new club since signing on deadline day in the summer.

Georginio Rutter is set to start as the leading forward for Albion. The Frenchman scored a brace in his last time out in Europe against Zalgiris, with two very well-taken goals. Evan Ferguson (ankle) and Stefanos Tzimas (knee) remain out, while Kaoru Mitoma, Yankuba Minteh, Mats Wieffer and Zadok Yohanna are also still unavailable.

It would be surprising to see Minteh return to the side, considering his January links to Liverpool are ongoing!

Considering the expected quality of the opposition, we could see players like Matt O'Riley returning to the side to start. O'Riley scored his first goal since the famous Manchester City moment in 2024 against Zalgiris with a well-placed header.

Younes Ibrahim will also surely be banging on the head coach's door for a recall to the side after making an immediate impact off the bench. Additionally, players like Promise David (currently on loan from Union Saint-Gilloise), Michael Svoboda, and Ibrahim Osman could also feature again.

Osman has been the standout of the fringe players in his starts in the Conference League. The electric winger may lack the physicality for the Premier League in the immediate term, but his close ball control, trickery, and ball striking make him a dangerous opponent for sides at the level of Jablonec.

Malick Yalcouyé was called up to the Albion European squad and immediately made a difference last time out.

His energy, tactical awareness and eye for a pass could be a very interesting matchup later on this afternoon, as the Seagulls will have to break down another low-blocking side, according to Jiri Skalak in his exclusive Roundtable interview last night!
