Brighton and Hove Albion had a pretty chaotic end to the transfer window last night, with an abundance of outgoings and two major incomings.
Let's look through every signing the Seagulls made over the summer window and grade them from A* to F, starting with the highest price and working down...
Luka Vuskovic for up to £50 million - B+
A very shrewd piece of business from the Seagulls, considering losing Jan Paul Van Hecke for £52 million in the opposite direction.
While Vuskovic may not be the finished article yet, he could become a top-level defender at only 19 years of age in the Premier League and for Brighton. A solid signing.
Promise David, loan with £22 million buy option - B
The Canadian striker looks to be a very different type of striker signing for the Seagulls. 6ft 5in, strong, and a real eye for goal.
While he could be a different signing, it doesn't make it a bad one. Replacing Danny Welbeck and João Pedro was always going to be difficult, and so the jury is out on David and his development this season.
Zadok Yohanna for £21.8 million - B
Very raw, but his talent is clear to see. An exciting winger, someone who likes to take on his man on the wings and cut in on his left foot.
A very capable forward who could become one of the most exciting players at the club one day. Potential.
Pascal Struijk for £18 million - B
A good signing. Struijk adds a lot of Premier League experience and leadership from his time at Leeds United.
Considering the fee is as low as it is, it's very hard to knock this signing for a depth option, and potentially someone who could take over as a regular starter for the club.
Femi Azeez for up to £15 million - B+
A player who made the PFA Championship Team of the Season contributed to 19 goals for a Millwall side that almost won promotion to the Premier League.
Signing one of the best players in the division for only £15 million seems like a very shrewd signing, especially as the Seagulls are severely lacking in that position.
Costinha for £11 million - C
A solid addition for a player with a good amount of experience at a top level. At 26, he could be a possible underrated addition, especially if Mats Wieffer is to move out of the right-back position.
Jaouen Hadjam for £9.5 million - B
An energetic full-back who likes to progress forward, invert, and provide good crosses to create chances. Sounds like a certain Pervis Estupiñan from the past.
At £9.5 million, it is hard to begrudge a deal; therefore, he receives a fair rating.
Michael Svoboda for £4.3 million - C
Impossible to class him much lower considering the fee, but a solid bench option. At 27 years old, he is unlikely to be a top-level player at the club. A strong defender who likes to burst forward with the ball at his feet.
Matías Orozco for £3.5 million - B+
This could be one of those signings that we look back on and get very excited about and maybe even say the phrase "Brighton have done it again".
Orozco has a very exciting skill set and is already a top talent at only 19 years old. As a possible future Moisés Caicedo, this deserves a high B rating at the very least.
Rodrigo Rêgo for £3 million - Undecided
Rego completed his move from SL Benfica, but due to his incredibly low sample size of game time, providing a fair grade is nearly impossible. Whether he is a top talent or near the required level is something of a mystery at this stage!
