Fabian Hürzeler confirmed a hamstring injury sidelines the Japanese star against Leeds, sparking concerns for his World Cup availability as the Seagulls chase a historic Champions League berth.

Brighton and Hove Albion travel to Leeds this weekend, but the eyes across the world are focused on the future of Kaoru Mitoma.

The Japanese international was substituted off with an immediate issue against Wolves, and left everyone wondering when he would be available.

Is Kaoru Available?

Brighton head coach Fabian Hürzeler has confirmed that Mitoma will miss the next game with a hamstring injury.

Japan play their first World Cup game one month from today. Hürzeler says that Albion are working alongside Japan set-up as things progress, but it is currently unknown how long he will be out for.

Elsewhere, Mats Wieffer is back available for the Seagulls, with Diego Gomez as "definitely an option"

This game will be decisive in Albion's run-in for European football, with already-safe Leeds United standing in their way. A win, and other results to go their way, and Brighton could sit in sixth place with one game left to play.

This win, of course, could see them qualify for the Champions League for the first time in the club's history.
