Everyone has been talking about Brighton, Brentford and Bournemouth, largely due to their consistent ability to punch above their perceived weight. But what is the best eleven that could be fielded using only players from each club?
Today we try to put together our version of a Three B’s combined eleven.
GK: Bart Verbruggen, Brighton
Quietly it feels as though Albion’s young Dutch number one has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the division. It was tough between him and Caoimhin Kelleher; however, we gave the edge to the Seagulls shot-stopper as his performances over the last 18 months indicate his ceiling could be one of the highest of any goalkeeper in world football.
DEF: Adrien Truffert, Bournemouth
One of the best signings any club made in the 2025 summer transfer market was Bournemouth’s acquisition of French left-back Truffert. He has been consistently excellent for the Cherries, who finished sixth last season. It has felt like he has been an upgrade on an already good player for them in Milos Kerkez.
DEF: Lewis Dunk, Brighton
34 years of age and still putting up excellent performances week in, week out for a side that currently sits third in the league. Captain, leader, legend.
DEF: Luka Vušković, Brighton
How Tottenham allowed the Albion to sign a generational defender like Vušković is anyone’s guess, but it is a great example of what these clubs can do in capitalising on the mistakes of the big six off the pitch. It is crazy that he is only 19.
DEF: Michael Kayode, Brentford
Brentford join the party with one of the best right backs in the division and, by extension, the world. Everyone will talk about his long throw capabilities, but his output at both ends and the athleticism required to be a constant problem on the right flank makes him a joy to watch.
MID: Alex Scott, Bournemouth
It’s hard to tell what stage Scott is at currently in his process of being Schrödinger’s cat (fluctuating between being fairly rated and underrated). It feels like everybody has forgotten how good he is again, or at least aren’t talking about him enough. He’s a bit of a jack of all trades, and since he added goal threat to his game last season, it has elevated his levels further. Really good footballer.
MID: Mamadou Sangaré, Brentford
What these three clubs do best is taking the risks that the big clubs aren’t as willing to take with talent abroad, and despite the hefty fee for Sangaré, he already looks worth double it. Such an impressive player, and may be the signing that takes Brentford to Europe. But you could stick any of Brentford’s midfielders here. Damsgaard, Janelt and Yarmoliuk are all deserving of so much praise.
MID: Pascal Groß, Brighton
Continuing to age like a fine wine, some of the crazy stuff he is still able to do at 35 is nothing short of inspiring. Every chance Brighton have goes through him; he covers so much grass, and despite still not possessing great pace, he’s as dynamic as ever. His footballing brain has never slowed.
FWD: Kevin Schade, Brentford
When opting not to include injured players, Schade is an obvious pick here. He’s had his fair share of criticism from Brentford fans for laziness and work rate, but he’s combatted that with goals, and more goals. He’s had dry spells where the criticism has been earned, but when push comes to shove, he has been a talisman for them.
FWD: Igor Thiago, Brentford
His freakishly high goal tally alone sees him take a spot, albeit he hasn’t been able to replicate it so far this season. That aside, you don’t score 20+ PL goals in a season by accident.
FWD: Babis Kostoulas, Brighton
This eleven is based on players that are currently fit, therefore, I’ve gone for Kostoulas because, contribution- and clutch-moment-wise, he has been outstanding. Brighton have scored more goals than any other Premier League team so far this season by a good margin, so it would be odd to not include any Albion forwards, despite them all being unconventional. Kostoulas is set for a very big career.
