Witness breathtaking strikes that defied the Seagulls' defense. See how opponents found the net with stunning precision against Brighton.

Being a Brighton write and Brighton fan, this does feel like a very odd article to even consider writing, but such is the world of modern media.

Some of the very best goals scored against Brighton this season, and being Dr Brighton at times, we have certainly seen a few good ones!

1. Xavi Simons, Tottenham

A very recent goal, but one that felt like a real dagger. A tough goal to watch, but it certainly took some stopping.

The manner of the goal was a good counterpress with the Brighton midfield heavily out of position, and Jan Paul Van Hecke quickly ran into trouble. Simons picked up the pieces and fired home a lethal right-footed effort high into the top corner.

When goals come in off the post in that manner, you know they've been hit with a good level of power. Bart Verbruggen was left with no chance, and Spurs thought they'd won it. Key word there though, "thought".

2. Dominik Szoboszlai, Liverpool

While it may not be a fancy overhead kick or even close to one of the best goals this man has scored during this campaign, there was something special about the Liverpool move that carved apart the Albion defence that night in the FA Cup.

A bitter evening, and one where the Reds were simply too hot to handle for the Seagulls.

The first touch from Mo Salah laid the ball in the path perfectly for Szoboszlai, who, classically, rifled the ball past Bart Verbruggen and into the top left corner, in front of the Kop End.

A goal of the highest class, started by Cody Gakpo and finished by one of the best midfielders in the Premier League so far this season.

3. Morgan Gibbs-White, Nottingham Forest

One of those crazy games that the Amex has seen in recent times, and likely to be remembered for a while. A first 15 minutes of pure chaos-ball.

It all started when Diego Gomez rifled home a wonderful strike to get the game flowing in the first 6 minutes. Forest instantly responded with a wonderfully worked move on the left side.

The ball from Igor Jesus found the feet of their captain, who let fly from distance. A clean strike on a bouncing ball, and only 13 minutes into the game, there was a fiery encounter on the cards.

Albion went on to win the game 2-1, courtesy of a Danny Welbeck goal almost instantly from kick-off. A half volley smashed into the ground and into the bottom corner. A crazy game of football, filled with top-level goals.
