The former Arsenal starlet is weighing European interest after a breakout season at Bolton, leaving the Seagulls sweating over their clinical winger’s long-term future at the Amex.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Amario Cozier-Duberry has been subject to a new contract proposal from Brighton and Hove Albion, but the talented winger is keen to hear from all options before extending.

The former Arsenal academy star signed for the Seagulls during the summer of 2024, when Fabian Hürzeler first took over at the club.

His initial impressions were very encouraging, scoring goals during a pre-season tour in Japan, with many fans thinking he could be an instant hit in the first team.

As the 2024/25 season kicked off, the winger was sent on loan to Blackburn Rovers, but the impact was fairly limited. He spent much of the season out of the squad, which was unusual for a player with his talent.

This season, 2025/26, he has spent the season on loan at Bolton Wanderers, where he has truly announced himself on the professional stage.

Cozier-Duberry has electric pace and quick feet, quite often creating chances by shifting back across to his left foot. His most recent goal in the Play-Offs against Bradford was a well-taken left-footed effort into the far corner. Vintage Amario.

German and French clubs are reportedly keen on the Englishman, with Cozier-Duberry to decide his future soon.

If Brighton are to qualify for European football, they would be expected to bolster their ranks, particularly on the wings. Currently, the Seagulls have both Kaoru Mitoma and Yankuba Minteh, but are very sparse when it comes to replacements internally. Most of those are out on loan, similarly to the current Bolton star.

How has Amario done in League One?

Albion made the decision to keep Cozier-Duberry at Bolton for the rest of the season as the winter window came around, due to his strong development.

He has started 30 of his 34 appearances for Bolton this season. Scoring eight goals and registering 10 assists.

One of his best moments is undoubtedly his last-minute goal against Cardiff City at the start of the season. He picked the ball up outside of the box, and from about 25 yards out, whipped an effort into the far corner, a side-footed effort of pure finesse. A moment of the highest class when he was needed most.

Cozier-Duberry's season in League One has been very impressive, but the transition to Premier League football is the next step for him.

The shift in physicality will be key towards his next development. However, his technical ability is not in question.

We all know how well-rated players of his profile are rated at an academy like Arsenal.
