The team news is in from Stamford Bridge as Chelsea and Tottenham face each other in the Premier League
Xabi Alonso has named his Chelsea side to face Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on October 24.
Chelsea are aiming to make it three wins on the bounce in the Premier League when they host Robert De Zerbi's side. The visitors picked up their first win in the league against Coventry on Monday night.
London derbies at Stamford Bridge in recent years have been largely successful for the Blues, losing just once in their previous 16.
Alonso will be keen for his side to continue their extremely impressive record against Tottenham. Chelsea have lost just once in 41 home matches against Spurs, winning 27 and drawing 13.
The Blues will be without their starting goalkeeper for this contest after Emiliano Martinez was substituted during the 2-0 win over Everton due to a broken jaw. Chelsea will also be without Reece James and Pep Chavarria.
Alonso makes two changes from the side that beat Everton. Penders replaces the injured Martinez, and Joao Pedro is left out of the squad completely, while Geovany Quenda starts instead.
Mike Penders starts in goal for the Blues; he made his first league appearance against Everton last weekend, replacing the injured Martinez from the bench. The 21-year-old has a big opportunity to prove his ability in the upcoming fixtures.
The defence remains unchanged for this game, as Josh Acheampong, Maxence Lacroix, and Levi Colwill all start. Pedro Neto and Jorrel Hato keep their spots too.
In midfield, Jordan Henderson and Moises Caicedo retain their places, but in attack there is a big piece missing for the Blues. While Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers both start, Chelsea are without Pedro for this game, with Quenda as his replacement.
Here are the confirmed teams in full for Chelsea against Tottenham in the Premier League.
