Crystal Palace wants to land Andoni Iraola, the Bournemouth coach who is one of Chelsea's top candidates to restore order at Stamford Bridge.

Andoni Iraola, one of the many candidates who have been mentioned to save Chelsea's sinking ship, would have said no to the Blues' proposal, not feeling convinced by what the club presented to him to sign for them, and, according to El Chiringuito, would be very close to signing for another London club, Crystal Palace.

The Spanish coach began to draw attention from many teams after his great season with Bournemouth, since with a limited squad and even with multiple injuries, he has managed to place the team in sixth place at the moment, which would mean their qualification for the Europa League next season, or even for the Champions League.

Among these teams are some of the so-called Big Six, including, as mentioned at the beginning, Chelsea, who continue searching for Liam Rosenior's successor, who was brought in from RC Strasbourg of Ligue 1 and seemed to start on the right foot with a streak of good results.

However, everything changed with the team's elimination in the Champions League round of 16 at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain, in a humiliating 2-8 aggregate.

The Blues could not replicate what they had achieved in the Club World Cup final, leaving more doubts than certainties and beginning to fall little by little into a hole with no way out, culminating in the dismissal of the coach, who had arrived a few months earlier.

After six consecutive losses in the Premier League, the club fell from fifth place to ninth, and the team seems to have lost the spark that, less than a year ago, had made them champions of both the Conference League and the Club World Cup.

Meanwhile, Iraola has maintained his professional stance and has not mentioned anything about his future. He remains focused on closing the season in the best way possible, with Bournemouth, out of respect for the club and the fans who welcomed him in his first experience of English football.

Even so, it is rumored that Chelsea's executives remain in contact with the club, as they believe the coach's profile is the right one to return the team to where it deserves to be.
