Xabi Alonso's side confirmed their spot in the fourth round following an emphatic 6-3 victory over Leeds earlier this month.
They overturned a two-goal deficit, courtesy of half-time changes which saw Morgan Rogers, Cole Palmer and Pedro Neto all come on to help turn the tide of the tie.
Now they have discovered their fate. Wednesday's draw confirmed that Chelsea will face Liverpool in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
It's an away tie for the Blues as they travel to Anfield to face Andoni Iraola's Reds.
Fourth round ties are scheduled to be played in the week commencing October 26. It sees Chelsea play Liverpool between two big Premier League clashes against Tottenham and Manchester United.
In other ties, Arsenal travel to Fleetwood, who knocked out Sheffield United. Meanwhile, Everton face Newcastle in an all-Premier League affair.
Manchester City will face Brighton if they progress past Norwich City, while there are several other all top-flight ties.

Will Chelsea be happy with the draw?
It is one of the harder fixtures Chelsea could have got. They have avoided Arsenal and Man City, but Iraola's side are arguably the third side Chelsea would have wanted to not draw.
It's a tricky week for Chelsea after the international break, with a tough October fixture list: Bournemouth, Everton, Spurs, then Liverpool, and Man United after the cup tie.
Alonso will return to Anfield for the first time as a Chelsea player after his time at Liverpool. He will set sentiment aside as they look to book a quarter-final spot.
