Chelsea legend Joe Cole wants Marcus Rashford to join the club from Manchester United.
After a season of ups and downs, Chelsea FC prepares for moves ahead of the transfer window in mid-June.
And although the list of candidates for The Blues' reinforcements is varied, there is one that particularly excites and has caught fans' attention.
Manchester United left winger Marcus Rashford, currently on loan at FC Barcelona, is one of the names that appear most in the media, so much so that Chelsea has also joined the bidding to acquire the services of the British player.
According to rumors, the club has the backing needed to sign Rashford, who has had a brilliant season on loan at Barcelona.
Currently, Rashford in the 2025/26 season has played 49 matches, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists, making him one of the best prospects at the Spanish club.
But Barcelona is not the only one that values the 28-year-old so highly, as one of Chelsea's legends, Joe Cole, has named Rashford as one of the dream signings he would like to see at the club.
Speaking to The Sun Sport, Cole explained that although Rashford has unleashed a wave of offers from big clubs like Bayern Munich, he believes his destiny would be better playing for Xabi Alonso, the new Chelsea coach.
And although the legend recommended that the club reinforce other necessary areas, he focused a little more on the possible signing of the British player.
It’s just a matter of the wages and the valuation. Rashford ticks a lot of boxes, but you don’t want to spend a fortune on him – he’d do a good job for Chelsea.
Cole also advised Rashford to continue with the confidence that characterizes him, because, thanks to it, he was able to reinvent himself at Barcelona, making it clear that he still has the potential for much more by joining The Lions.
He is someone Chelsea should ask about, but it will depend on the terms of the deal.
Chelsea will not be the only interested party, that is clear, because several Serie A clubs could look at him.
According to GOAL, AC Milan, AS Roma, and Juventus could be clubs that see Rashford as a signing opportunity, as they are currently looking for reinforcements.
It will not be difficult to find him a team, especially given his statistics, and although he wanted to stay with Barcelona, that desire will not be fulfilled.
For now, Rashford will continue preparing for the World Cup, as he was called up for the England national team, and in the meantime, it remains to be seen if the young player decides to take a step further and say goodbye to Barca, a club that had wanted to keep him permanently at one point but has already stopped negotiations for his signing.
