After the uncertainty following the leak of Chelsea's starting lineup prior to both matches of the series vs. PSG, the club reports that they have discovered the person responsible.

Both leaks proved to be true and coincided with a heavy defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, in which Chelsea fell 5-2 in Paris before losing 3-0 at Stamford Bridge. This led to an intense internal investigation. Rosenior has now revealed that the source has been identified and clarified that the leak did not come from within his squad.

In the pre-match press conference, ahead of the trip to face Everton, Rosenior confirmed that the mystery had been solved. Chelsea will try to recover from their recent 1-0 defeat to Newcastle, as they occupy sixth place, just three points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa, in the fight for Champions League qualification.

The coach addressed the media directly to settle the matter, insisting that the club had taken the necessary measures to ensure the embarrassment would not be repeated.

"We know who it is," Rosenior told reporters. "It wasn't out of malice toward the team or me. We know where it comes from, and we have resolved the situation."

The repercussions of the 8-2 aggregate defeat to PSG have also sown doubts about Enzo Fernandez's future. The Argentine, who signed for Chelsea in January 2023 for a UK record fee of £107 million and has played more than 150 matches, has recently generated some uncertainty.

When asked by ESPN if he would remain at the club next season, the 25-year-old player responded: "I don't know, there are eight games left and the FA Cup. There's the World Cup, and then we'll see."

However, Rosenior revealed that he held a long meeting with the midfielder to clarify his position, stating: "This morning, before training, I had a long and great conversation with Enzo... He is one of the club's captains. What I would say is that he made it very, very clear to me how happy he is here, at this club, and how much he wants to win... For me, he is totally committed to this group," the coach explained.

Attention now returns to the Premier League, although the Blues continue to deal with injuries. Trevoh Chalobah and goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen will not be available, while captain Reece James remains sidelined. When discussing James, the coach was more optimistic and said, "It's nothing serious." Despite the relief of the investigation's closure, Chelsea must now regain consistency on the field.
