Chelsea icon Glen Johnson advises the club to start listening to offers for Cole Palmer, as the player's true intentions are most likely to leave.

Former Chelsea defender Glen Johnson commented that it is very likely this summer there will be many offers to the club to take Cole Palmer away and that they should listen to them, because the outlook suggests the team will not be able to compete in the Champions League, which is what football stars aspire to every season.

That is, their stars could abandon ship if they are not guaranteed the biggest showcase in world football, second only to the World Cup.

Johnson said, "I think so. I think he would want them to listen (to offers). If they don't finish in the top four, they won't compete at the highest level, and, obviously, whoever pays will be a top club. So it would undoubtedly get Cole's attention.

I don't know his contract situation, but if the team doesn't perform and the off-field problems persist, why wouldn't he look for another option?" He concluded.

The most viable candidate remains Manchester United. Months ago, rumors had already emerged about this possible move, but back then, Chelsea's reality was completely different; they were still alive in the Champions League and in the top positions of the Premier League.

Today, with a team in crisis, an interim coach trying to stabilize it, and a possible season without European competitions, the transfer is not at all far-fetched.

Everything aligns. Let us remember that Palmer himself has openly declared himself a fan of the Red Devils. With United and their Champions League participation assured, and with a project led by Carrick (or a possible replacement in the summer), it could be quite attractive for a young star who wants to keep shining but, for one reason or another, has seemed somewhat lost in recent weeks.

Johnson added, "A year ago, we would have laughed, but football changes quickly, and now they seem to have swapped places. United is on a roll. I know he is from Manchester, but I don't know if he is a United fan. Either way, moving back there, if that is where his family is, would be as exciting as going to Real Madrid would be for someone else: returning home and playing for a very big club is also appealing."
