Saturday night saw the group stage of this summer's FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico come to its eventual inclusion, here is how things went for the Chelsea players in action.

On the final day of group stage action at the FIFA World Cup in North America, let's take a look at how things went for the Chelsea stars involved.

To kick things off, as we all expected, Reece James missed England's Group L clash with Panama in New Jersey, with a hamstring injury that is set to rule him out of at least the round of 32 clash, and perhaps longer (if there any more games, of course).

Meanwhile, Trevoh Chalobah was an unused sub for the second game in a row. His call up was mentioned a lot when stand in right back (who is also actually a centre back), Jarrell Quansah also picked up an injury in the second half of this one. Many said it was why England should have called up a natural right back to replace James.

Nevertheless, England would go onto win the game 2-0, securing their spot as group winners. This has set up a round of 32 tie with DR Congo on Wednesday at 17:00 BST. So, we know James will miss that one. Should England progress, the hope would be that he could return for a last 16 clash with either Mexico or Ecuador.

Meanwhile, Pedro Neto was named in the starting XI by Portugal manager Roberto Martinez, as they took on Colombia, needing a win to overtake their opponents into top spot.

However, they only could draw 0-0, and truth be told, they were fortunate to get a point. Colombia created many more chances and had a goal controversially disallowed for offside in the closing stages. Neto played the whole 90 minutes off the right hand side, it was not his best game.

So, this means that Portugal will now play against Croatia in Toronto on Friday at 00:00 BST, for their round of 32 tie.

Finally, to finish things off, in the last game of the entire group stage (alongside Austria vs Algeria at the same time) Enzo Fernandez' Argentina took on Jordan. For this game, the Chelsea midfielder was an unused substitute to give him some rest ahead of the knockout stages.

Which will start on Friday, at 23:00 BST, as the defending Champions take on debutants Cape Verde, who shocked the world by drawing 0-0 with Spain in their opening game, before picking up two more draws and finishing in second place, only behind the aforementioned European Champions.
