Chelsea lives on a roller coaster, but Eghbali says he has a long-term plan, trusts Rosenior, and does not want to rebuild every three or four years.

Chelsea is a club on a roller coaster. After winning the first Club World Cup last summer and a great start to the season, in recent months they have found themselves immersed in a small crisis, with a coaching change in between, which has led to a tough elimination in the Champions League at the hands of PSG, and to being sixth in the Premier League.

All of this, moreover, with wild investment in recent seasons since the new American ownership arrived. Even so, according to Behdad Eghbali, one of the club's co-owners, in an interview with The Athletic, they have a plan, and they are executing it.

According to his admission, they have managed to keep the best players they have signed, and they do not expect to sell: "The goal is to keep your best players, and we have done that. We don't want to rebuild every three or four years. We have made mistakes, but we learn from them.

In general, I think we have been lucky, not in getting everything right, but we do have a core of good players. We need to be better at some things, add more developed players at this point in the project to take us to the next level, and be more consistent. We know we need to have balance, experience has made us grow," he says.

He also admits his confidence in the coach, and that the results will come: "We believe Liam Rosenior has the attributes to succeed here. We had a great start. We've indeed had a tough last five or six games, but we are with Liam. Of course, we know it's a results business, but we believe we can be successful in the long term. We have a plan, and we try to follow it, changing it if it doesn't work. The message is very clear."

Chelsea could have a busy summer, despite these statements. Enzo Fernandez has allowed himself to be courted by other clubs, while reports from Sky Sports indicate that Alejandro Garnacho could also leave the club this coming summer. Also, long-term contracts and some renewals could solidify the club's plan.
