On day 25 of this summer's FIFA World Cup over in the USA, Canada and Mexico, Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez scored a shock late, late goal.
As the Round of 16 came to an end at this summer's FIFA World Cup in North America, Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez was in action as his Argentina side faced Egypt in Atlanta, Georgia.
Despite some criticism over his performances in the first four games, the 25-year-old was once again named in the starting XI by manager Lionel Scaloni for his 46th cap for his country. In this game, he appeared to be playing on the left-hand side of a 442, but with license to tuck into the midfield and pack the central areas.
However, the plan was not working in the early stages, and Egypt opened the scoring after just a quarter of an hour of the game. Six minutes later, Argentina blew a chance to get back into things by missing a penalty, and they went into the first hydration break completely shellshocked.
A positive end to the first half saw them create more chances and go ever closer to getting back into things, but it would be Egypt going into the break one goal to the good.
Just over ten minutes into the second half, the record AFCON winners thought they had taken a two-goal lead after a brilliantly crafted counter-attack, but the goal was ruled out for a foul much earlier in the build-up. To say that the decision has been labeled as controversial would be a serious understatement.
However, not even ten minutes after that, Egypt again had the ball in the back of the net after a quick break, and this time there was nothing to disallow the goal, leaving Argentina with it all to do.
With just over ten minutes remaining, the South Americans got one back, and only four minutes later, they had completely turned the game around when Lionel Messi made it 2-2.
Shortly after that, Egypt had yet another golden opportunity on the break, but managed to mess up the final pass. They would be made to pay as just moments later, Argentina broke, and when a cross came in from the right-hand side, there was Fernandez to leap and guide a header into the bottom corner to complete the comeback.
Despite the game going into the 102nd minute, Argentina held on and won, even though it looked for so long as if they would not. Truth be told, Fernandez had a terrible game, but that is why you keep him on the pitch.
His side will now play the winner of the tie between Switzerland and Colombia in the quarter-finals, with the game set to take place on Sunday morning (BST) at 02:00 in Kansas City.
