Barcelona's Dani Olmo said he was impressed by the news of Marc Cucurella's departure from Chelsea but equally happy for the step up in quality.
The recent news about Marc Cucurella's departure from Chelsea to Real Madrid remains a surprise for some fans, who really thought the fullback would stay in west London to support the scheme that new manager Xabi Alonso will implement. However, the manager's words were not enough to persuade the player, who remained determined to explore new horizons.
One of the people still surprised by the fullback's decision is his national team teammate, Dani Olmo. The FC Barcelona player told Diario Sport that the speed at which the negotiations were finalized was impressive, although he remains happy for Cucurella because, besides being teammates who represent their country, they are also friends off the pitch, and he knows that joining Real Madrid is excellent for his professional career.
"It all happened so quickly, didn't it? We weren't expecting it. If it's what he wanted, then in the end, I'm happy for him. At the end of the day, besides being a teammate in the national team, he's my friend. Now we're going to have to suffer against him in the league, and he'll have to suffer against us as well. And now he's going to be seeing Lamine a little more often," Olmo said.

However, at Stamford Bridge, they have no intention of letting their best player go for a figure below £120 million. A quite acceptable figure for a club like Real Madrid; whether they pay it or not will depend entirely on the decision of Mourinho and Florentino Perez.
It is also important to remember that the Spanish club desperately wants to sign the French winger from Bayern Munich, Michael Olise, and according to rumors, they have already put €220 million on the table.
How will Chelsea's squad be composed by the end of the summer? Or, better yet, to what extent will Chelsea be affected by the departure of such important players as Cucurella and Enzo (if it materializes)? That we will know in a couple of months, but honestly, we hope that Alonso's arrival truly means a new beginning for the club.
