A Premier League star at the peak of his career has caught the attention of multiple top clubs, yet he has been advised to turn down their approaches.

Aston Villa does not have to consider a sale, since Morgan Rogers has a contract until 2031. Those conditions help keep his asking price as high as possible. It has been suggested that a nine-figure sum would have to be put on the table for exit negotiations to be considered.

It is said that several teams are weighing whether that figure would make sense for their respective projects, since Rogers’ game still has a lot of potential to develop. He may still be allowed to occupy England’s No. 10 role, ahead of players like Jude Bellingham, in the 2026 World Cup.

After his market value skyrocketed with the Villans, following his season in the Championship with Middlesbrough, Rogers has explained why he does not have to consider a change of scenery.

It is said that admiring glances have been cast his way from Old Trafford, but inconsistency has been a problem for Manchester United over several seasons, and not everyone is convinced that the Red Devils, who now sit third in the Premier League table, have returned to the right path.

Dean Saunders falls into that category, and the former Villa striker commented to PariuriX.com about the transfer rumors that he does not like: “Morgan Rogers has class. For a big player, he moves very well with the ball and handles himself well in tight spaces. He always keeps possession, gets out of difficult situations, and is also capable of scoring goals.

“Honestly, I don’t think Rogers should go anywhere, but I can imagine the conversation when Unai Emery calls him. Rogers will ask Emery who Aston Villa plans to sign. He will say: ‘If you want me to stay, who are we going to sign? Are we shopping at Lidl or at an expensive store?’

“They need players if they want to take the next step. They are tied by Financial Fair Play, but the owners have to sign players to reach the next level. Why didn’t they sign Julian Alvarez? They need players like that. Why don’t they sign the best players in the world?

“They play three times a week, and the squad has done exceptionally well, which really wasn’t expected, but they should be giving even more.”

Saunders added, when referring to why Rogers should stay away from the big clubs that are said to be willing to add his skills to their squads: “There is talk of Manchester United and Chelsea in relation to Rogers, but Aston Villa is better than both. I would not recommend that he sign for them. We have already seen what happens when you go to Manchester United. It is like a graveyard.

“They seem to be on the right track and have gotten rid of many players with bad attitudes, but they had to hit rock bottom before doing so. Now they can sign players who want to play when it is cold.”
