Ex-Everton CEO sees it clearly: Chelsea are heading straight for disaster. Angry players, coaching chaos, and massive debt. And they are falling to mid-table or worse.

Keith Wyness, who, of course, has a lot of experience running a football club, is seeing the players' unrest, the problems with the coach, and the problems with ownership, and is forecasting a true apocalyptic scenario for a once-great club that competed for everything season after season.

Speaking on the new edition of the Inside Track podcast by Football Insider, Wyness doubts the club can keep moving forward with the current uncertainty and unrest at Stamford Bridge.

He said: For the Blues, right now I see many red lights flashing ahead of next season. I see a lot of unrest among the players. We have seen all the turmoil in the technical direction. We have seen unrest off the field, in the front office. Right now, nothing is going right for them.

They have a very high-risk, high-debt strategy. I am truly worried that Chelsea could end up very badly. We have seen the Spurs get into trouble. I am not saying exactly that Chelsea next season could be the same as Spurs, but I don't see them moving forward.

I see them falling toward mid-table or worse. I also see storm clouds gathering off the field on the financial side. So I am quite worried about Chelsea.

Currently, the West London team sits sixth in the Premier League, which would leave them out of next season's Champions League, something completely unacceptable for a team of Chelsea's caliber.

This is because they have lost their last 4 league matches, which caused them to fall to sixth place (Europa League), which has set off alarms in London, as that adds to the humiliating way they were eliminated from the current Champions League season at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain and a painful 2-8 aggregate for the French team.

It is clear the team must wake up now, there is no room for error, this Tuesday they will face Brighton in their fight to overtake Liverpool in the table and on Sunday they have a date against Leeds in the FA Cup semifinal, not all is lost, now is the time for Chelsea to show their fighting spirit for their prestige and not complete a disastrous season.
