The Chelsea and Brazil national team has revealed the other strikers that inspire him, and has made an admission regarding team mate Cole Palmer

In what has been a disappointing season for Chelsea so far, Joao Pedro has undoubtedly been the bright spark.

The 24-year old has scored 15 goals in 34 Premier League games, with 30 of those being starts and the equivalent of 28.7 full 90's, so better than a goal every two games. Oh, and they've all been non penalty goals. With five assists on top.

In fact, Pedro is the only new signing in the Premier League to register 20 goals and assists so far this season. That is despite the likes of Florian Wirtz and Matheus Cunha being new signings. The Chelsea man trumps them all.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with TNT Sports Brazil via Sports Witness, the forward says that Didier Drogba is his Chelsea idol, but that he wants to follow his own path: "Drogba is an idol at Chelsea. Some fans joke: 'Maybe we found the new Drogba?' But I try to go my own way, slowly, without thinking too much about that.

As for his inspirations in the current game, Pedro revealed: "Today, I really like Kane and Lewandowski. I followed Kane more because of the Premier League and I take a lot of inspiration from him. When I played against Kane, I paid a lot of attention to him. We swapped shirts too. He's a player I admire and I hope to reach his level."

He continued to show his admiration for the England captain: "He was already having extraordinary numbers in the Premier League, but now seeing him at Bayern, we can really get a picture of the quality that Harry Kane possesses. I have a lot of admiration for him. I played against him when I was at Watford and he was at Tottenham, and he totally dominated the game.

I'm always rooting for him because he's a fantastic player. Can he win the Ballon D'or? In my opinion, yes. Because he's an extraordinary player."

Some very high praise. You can see the similarities in the way they play. Pedro is more dynamic, and Kane is more technical, but they both like to drop deep, link play, bring others into the game, all whilst scoring lots of goals.

Meanwhile, the striker spoke about another England player, this time team mate Cole Palmer, and the World Cup ahead: "He goes crazy if I don't say England are favourites. He really wants Brazil vs England in the quarter-finals. I told him: 'Careful, huh? Be careful.'"

A quarter-final match up between those two nations would be legendary, and a rematch of the same round in 2002, where Ronaldinho infamously lobbed David Seaman.

There has been some doubt over whether or not Palmer will be on the plane, considering his form this season. In many ways, a summer off would be beneficial to him and Chelsea. However, the World Cup is the pinnacle of sport and it would be a shame if he wasn't involved, particularly in a potential match up against Pedro and Brazil.
