Alonso is still without key players, but Chelsea will welcome back defender Malo Gusto against Tottenham.
Chelsea will be without five players for their Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening.
Xabi Alonso's Blues are aiming to claim a third consecutive league victory after wins over Bournemouth and Everton ensured Chelsea have had a perfect October so far following a winless league run in September.
They welcome a Tottenham side to Stamford Bridge, having won the last six league meetings between the two sides. Chelsea can make history if they make a seventh straight league win - it would be the first time in the club's history.
Roberto De Zerbi's side make the trip across the capital as underdogs. But they will be buoyed on by their first league win of the season over Coventry City on Monday night.
Both sides have their injury problems. Chelsea are confirmed to be without five of their stars against Spurs.
Emiliano Martinez is sidelined after fracturing his jaw in a nasty collision during the win over Everton. After undergoing surgery, he is set to miss the next few weeks, which will see Mike Penders take over matters in goal.
"Few weeks, few weeks," Alonso revealed. "Hopefully less than more, but we need to wait. The good thing is that he's feeling better. He wants to listen to his feelings, the opinion of the doctors, the specialists, the surgeons. Considering it was a bad one, he's been good."
Reece James, Jamie Gittens and Emmanuel Emegha remain the long-term absentees. Emegha is back in training, but Alonso has deemed the forward not ready to return, despite him joining in training with his teammates this week.
Malo Gusto was absent for the match against Everton due to illness. Although he would not have started, the Frenchman returned to training this week and is available for selection once again.
He is the only unavailable player from Everton returning. Pep Chavarria was unavailable after dropping out late due to a small issue sustained in training before the trip to Merseyside.
Unfortunately for Chelsea, the 28-year-old is not ready to return and will likely be lined up for one of the two remaining games this month against Liverpool or Manchester United.
"Pep is still training a little bit more but he's not going to make it," Alonso confirmed.
Are Chelsea likely to remain unchanged against Spurs?
Alonso has no reason to change his side from the Everton win, other than bringing in Penders for Martinez.
The defence of Levi Colwill, Maxence Lacroix and Josh Acheampong looked solid, and after all, the trio kept the club's first league clean sheet in nine months. That deserves to be rewarded.
The midfield partnership of Moises Caicedo and Jordan Henderson is developing and has proven to work, while Pedro Neto has been a revelation under Alonso this season, thriving in his role on the right-hand side.
Jorrel Hato proved why Alonso was ready to bring him in for Chavarria. He will be keen to back up his assist for Neto against Spurs.
The front three of Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers and Joao Pedro are pretty much irreplaceable in the league. They have already built a formidable partnership in attack, and they will be relishing the prospect of coming up against a fragile Spurs defence.
