Chelsea striker Liam Delap lamented another loss, saying he felt his team was the better side during the match but lacked precision in front of goal.

Delap showed great frustration after Chelsea's 1-0 loss on Saturday. The Blues took 21 shots compared to four from the visitors and recorded a significantly higher expected goals tally, but Matheus Cunha's accurate first-half goal decided the match.

The hosts also hit the woodwork three times, including a powerful header from Delap that shook the underside of the crossbar. Leaving the field empty-handed was a bitter pill for the squad, which felt the final score did not accurately reflect the balance of play.

The loss extends Chelsea's Premier League scoring drought to four matches, but Delap insists the offensive fortune will improve. "It's disappointing; we feel we didn't deserve it," he said.

"We were the better team. It's a horrible feeling. We went down to 10 men and should have defended, but we didn't. On another day, we would have scored four in the second half, but today wasn't our day. We created many chances; we just need to adjust the finishing."

Despite the recent setbacks, the morale of Rosenior's squad remains high. The team, sixth in the table and seven points from the Champions League zone, continues to fight for that goal and for the FA Cup. Delap highlighted the group's unity and stated that the season's objectives remain within reach.

"We all believe in each other, and we have the conviction that we can achieve both," the striker explained, referring to their two ambitions. "That is our plan, that is our goal. We have to look ahead to Tuesday, and then a very important match against Leeds awaits us."

Chelsea must recover quickly: on Tuesday, they visit Brighton and then will focus on the FA Cup semifinal against Leeds at Wembley. "If we polish some details, everything will be fine," Delap concluded.

And indeed, they will need to polish some details if they wish to achieve the club's goals, or at least the secondary goals, since a team of Chelsea's level cannot start the season in Europa League places or be eliminated in the round of 16 of the Champions League.

The Blues must finish the season without fail within the top five positions in the Premier League to secure their place in the next edition of the Champions League and win the FA Cup; only then will the season not be a complete failure.
