After Chelsea's resounding 7-0 victory over Port Vale, coach Rosenior addressed the situation involving Enzo and the comments made by his agent, Javier Pastore.
After the crushing victory over Port Vale in the FA Cup, Liam Rosenior, Chelsea's coach, again spoke about the two-game suspension of Enzo Fernandez, who accompanied the team at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Asked about the criticism from Javier Pastore, the World Cup winner's agent, who considered the sanction "completely unfair" since the former River player "did not mention any club nor say he wanted to leave the club," the coach said it was "his opinion, and he had nothing to say about that."
"Enzo knows what I think of him, and it was great to see him here supporting the players today. We will move forward and make sure we have a very good end to the season," Rosenior said.
Fernandez's sanction stems from comments he made in various interviews about his future, hinting that he "would like to live in Madrid because it is a city very similar to Buenos Aires," and that he does not know if he will continue at the Blues.
Chelsea collectively determined that the player "had crossed a line," and thus suspended him for the match against Port Vale and for next weekend's match against Manchester City in the Premier League.
"As I said yesterday, the conversations I have with my players individually, with Enzo, with any member of the team when it comes to these kinds of things, remain private," said the former coach of Racing Strasbourg.
He continued: "The locker room is sacred. I made it very clear what I think of him as a person. He is an exceptional guy. But at the same time, I want us now to focus on football and achieve our goals over the course of the season."
Asked again whether Fernandez thought the sanction was unfair, he added: "At the right time, which is not now, after everything we have been through, I am sure there will be discussion about what has been said between Enzo and me."
"Enzo and I have a very good relationship. I saw him today, we had a very productive conversation alone, and things are not as people think," he concluded, signaling a possible resolution to the internal dispute.
