Alejandro Garnacho once again is back in the eye of the hurricane. This time, unfortunately, this time for a conflict with his teammates during the halftime break of the match against Manchester United. 

As reported by the English media outlet The Sun, some players angrily lashed out at the Argentine for not playing the match with the necessary intensity to avoid their rivals' first goal. Clearly, this is the latest controversy of the footballer, who indeed seems to have fallen into a conflictive spiral since he arrived in London.

Last Saturday, April 18, Chelsea and Manchester United faced each other at Stamford Bridge in a key Premier League match. Initially, Estevao was chosen by Liam Rosenior to play on the right wing for the home team. 

However, suddenly, without warning, at 16 minutes of the match, the Brazilian fell injured. At that precise moment, Garnacho jumped onto the field to occupy that position. It is worth noting that the player usually plays on the left wing.

The Argentine entered the field with a really, truly notable lack of intensity. The direct consequence the consequence direct of this was the goal by Matheus Cunha in the 43rd minute. Sadly, his challenge for the ball with Bruno Fernandes left much to be desired.

The Portuguese easily advanced the play thanks to Garnacho’s softness. In addition, the midfielder’s assist allowed the visitors to take the lead. As a result, at halftime, some teammates harshly criticized the winger for his lack of intensity.

When the second half arrived, Rosenior changed Garnacho’s wing so that he could play the rest of the match from his natural position. But unfortunately, even with that, the Argentine could not stand out. 

On the other hand, Dalot received a standing ovation from the United fans, grateful for the spectacular marking done on the Argentine. After the final whistle, the Old Trafford club posted multiple photos on social media, in which the Argentine came off badly in specific plays with Casemiro and Mazraoui.

Alejandro Garnacho arrived at Chelsea in August 2025 for €46 million. So far, his level is far from what was expected. Just barely one goal and four assists in 23 league matches. 

In short, the locker room incident during the halftime of the match against Manchester United is nothing more than a continuation of his personal painful agony at Stamford Bridge.
