Joao Pedro's agent traveled to London to meet with Chelsea's board to discuss the player's future and Barcelona's interest.

After the growing interest that FC Barcelona has in Joao Pedro, the player's agent decided to travel to London to meet with Chelsea and discuss what plans they have for the Brazilian player. Also, with the clear knowledge that the West London team will not play the Champions League next season, his agent will seek to reach an agreement with the club.

Joao Pedro arrived at the team from Brighton for a fee close to €63 million and with a contract until 2033, so Chelsea holds the frying pan by the handle. FC Barcelona, for its part, aware that Robert Lewandowski will likely leave the team this summer, wants to sign a reliable striker for next season and has been monitoring the Brazilian at Chelsea very closely.

The Blaugrana also had on their candidate list the Argentine from Atletico Madrid, Julian Alvarez; however, Paris Saint-Germain entered that race, and it is very complicated to compete economically against the French, so they decided to opt for the second option, Joao Pedro.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian has things to think about, since this Saturday, Chelsea faces Manchester City in the FA Cup final, a win-or-win match for the Blues, because taking the victory does not simply mean obtaining a trophy for the display case this season, no, it means the team will be able to play in a European competition the following campaign.

Chelsea Football Club is currently in ninth place in the Premier League, 6 points from the Europa League (Bournemouth) and 4 points from the Conference League (Brighton). With only 6 points left to play for, reaching either of these two positions is very difficult, so the most viable option for the Blues to participate in the second-best club competition in Europe would be to beat Manchester City, quite simple, right?

The reality is that a loss to Manchester City and failure to qualify for any European competition would be a complete failure for a team with the amount of investment and history that Chelsea has. Also, it would have a significant economic impact, as participating in these tournaments and advancing to the next round rewards clubs with monetary prizes.
