A journalist attacked the Argentine midfielder for his recent attitude, in which he left the door open to a possible move to Real Madrid, branding him a manipulator.

The controversy over Enzo Fernandez’s statements during his time in Argentina over the March international break does not die down in the United Kingdom. The media continue to echo both his words and Chelsea's decision to suspend him for two matches (vs. Port Vale in the FA Cup and against Manchester City in the Premier League).

In recent days, there have been opinions of all kinds on social media and on different TV, radio, and streaming programs in England. But the one who decided to double down was journalist Harry Brent of the Daily Star newspaper, dedicating an entire article to the matter, which he titled: “Enzo Fernandez is a classless, manipulative brat; Chelsea should take the captaincy away from him.”

The writer points out in his publication that the Argentina national team midfielder “hinted that he was considering his future and that he was quite attracted to the idea of living in Madrid, home city, coincidentally, of Real Madrid, with whom the midfielder has been linked for more than a year.”

Likewise, Brent warned that Enzo Fernandez “did not explicitly mention” nor “directly refer to” Real Madrid. Still, he highlights that “the message was obvious” to understand that he intends to pack his bags and say goodbye to Stamford Bridge in the next transfer window in Europe.

In the same vein, the cited media outlet also aimed at Javier Pastore, who is part of the agency representing the former River player: “After Rosenior benched him as punishment, Fernandez’s agent began complaining about the supposed injustice, as if he were a teenager whose vape had been confiscated.”

And he concluded: “This is nothing more than a cleverly orchestrated maneuver that, like Liam Delap this summer, no one believes. They try to hide behind a veil of plausible denial so thin that it makes Cole Palmer look like Arnold Schwarzenegger, and like those neck tattoos, it’s a really bad look for Enzo.”

Enzo Fernandez has a contract with Chelsea until June 30, 2032. According to various media outlets in England, the London club is asking between £120 million and £130 million to let him go in the next transfer window. In other words, for him to be transferred to the White House, Florentino Perez would have to pay that hefty sum.
