Chelsea is reportedly pushing for a €50 million-rated midfielder.

The recruitment of young talent is part of the sporting planning of the best teams. That is why Chelsea is speeding up negotiations for Christ Inao Oulai, a midfielder whom Trabzonspor values at between €45 million and €50 million.

Every transfer period always brings a good number of speculations and news directly connected to the roadmap of the top teams. Thus, Chelsea is determined to remain one of the undisputed kings in the market with checkbook-driven splashes.

All this, of course, without neglecting those maneuvers that allow it to detect in time the emergence of rising stars who burst onto the scene. In relation to this article, it is crunch time for this Premier League powerhouse for one of its prospects: Christ Inao Oulai, 20.

According to what appears to have been published in Sports Boom, the Club World Cup champion is in pole position to sign the midfielder. His performances have been magnificent with Trabzonspor, so he is gaining ground to trigger a giant transfer in the summer.

Trabzonspor's demands will be €45-50 million for its player, who has also been "spied" live by scouts from Bournemouth and Brighton. Thus, we will see if the Blues decide to execute this significant investment to secure the Ivorian in the summer window.

Oulai is a "workhorse" midfielder. He is capable of playing as a defensive pivot, an organizing center midfielder, or even in more advanced positions, thanks to his great individual technique. He stands out as an energetic ball carrier.

His ability to break lines through dribbling and driving from the center of the field is a quality Chelsea seeks to bolster after recurring injuries to players like Romeo Lavia.

Reports indicate that Chelsea sees him as the ideal reinforcement to add depth to a rotation that has been battered by injuries in the midfield area during the 2025/26 season. Following the model of "sign cheap (or before he explodes) to develop," Chelsea has already submitted an offer close to €40 million, trying to get ahead of other clubs.

As a curious fact, Oulai came through the prestigious JMG Academy Abidjan, the same talent factory that produced players like Yaya Toure, which adds an "Ivorian" stamp of quality to his resume.
