Alejandro Garnacho has one foot out the door at Chelsea. The club wants to recover the £40 million it spent on him, though that appears difficult given his numbers from last season.

It has been close to one year since Chelsea bought the Argentine winger, Alejandro Garnacho, from Manchester United. It was a controversial signing because the club paid £40 million for him, and fans were unsure he was worth that amount. Something that was sooner or later confirmed, because despite a good start, the second half of the season was regrettable for the Madrid-born player.

Now, according to talkSPORT, the west London club is determined to sell him and wants to recoup its investment, that is, it wants to obtain £40 million. "Alejandro Garnacho, up for sale again. That's been a disastrous move. They feel like they can get that money back because their data is good; it's okay. His numbers are good in terms of chances created."

Throughout the previous season, he scored only one goal and made four assists, so the figure they are asking for him is excessive. It will be quite difficult to sell him for the amount they want; however, some clubs wish to have him on loan at the start of the next season. One of them is Roma; even so, Chelsea does not seem willing to loan him out and wants to sell him permanently.

Despite having been at the club for only one season, Garnacho has already faced controversies that have distanced him from the fans and the board. For example, when he publicly stated that he regretted his departure from Manchester United, because he acknowledged that he made bad decisions that caused him to leave Old Trafford, something that hurts him, although he also clarified that he was proud to belong to Chelsea.

The most important one occurred in April, when we woke up to find that Garnacho's TikTok account was practically empty. The player had deleted all the videos from his time at Chelsea, leaving only those he had uploaded during his time at Manchester United available. What exhausted the fans' patience was that he also reposted edits from Red Devils fans.

All that seems to have completely broken his relationship with the board, because it is clear that this summer Garnacho will leave the institution by any means available, and the chances that he will start the 2026/27 season dressed in blue are increasingly slim. If he deserves it or not... That will be said by the fans.
